Hello everyone!
My name is Luke Mepham, I'm a filmmaker from the south of the UK and I'm really excited to be bringing to you my feature film debut: 'Amelia'.
I've made countless short films in the past and have won numerous awards for them but I feel now is the time to tell longer stories. This project has been on my mind for nearly six years and over the years I've come across some fantastic talent that I can see in the characters.
I was inspired to write 'Amelia' by such filmmakers as John Carpenter, George A. Romero and Mike Flannagan.
'Amelia' represents a rare kind of horror film: one that doesn't rely on gratuity, gore, over the top violence and cheap shocks. Instead it operates by slowly getting under your skin and chilling you to the bone.
The script has fleshed out and realistic characters with a thought provoking storyline, but then weaves in elements of universal psychological terror. The result is what makes great horror films like 'Jacob's Ladder', 'Halloween' and 'Night Of The Living Dead' possible.
We are looking to raise £5,000 and any contributions from you would mean a great deal to myself and the rest of the cast and crew. We would be able to lock in certain locations as well as pay for the equipment needed to bring the story to you. We have a fantastic range of performers including Meghan Adara, fresh off her award winning role in 'The Cellar', playing the titular character, Sophie Lane, Guy Steddon, Amanda Bourne and Neil James. Another person I'm proud to bring on board is DOP Ollie Davies. This is also Ollie's feature film debut and I'm excited to be able to take this journey with him. If his demo reel is anything to go by, he will give the film an incredibly beautiful look.
We will also be using the money to enter the film into festivals worldwide with a hope to be able to make it in the industry.
We will be giving out various perks as an option for contributors if they would like to gain something from the film.
I have all the faith and more in the cast and crew I've got to help. This is a life long dream of mine and, even if this is the only film I make, I'd be happy that it's Amelia.
Please share and shout and rant and rave about this campaign to help us bring this original tale to the screens.
Many Thanks
Luke Mepham

LUKE MEPHAM - WRITER & DIRECTOR
Luke's interest in film came from when he was 4 and watched Steven Spielberg's Hook. Throughout his childhood, he welcomed new genres with horror being his main interest. He was 8 when he first saw Dawn Of The Dead on TV and it had a profound effect on him. When he saw a zombie climb on to a crate and getting decapitated, his jaw dropped. He just didn't know you could do such a thing in films. In his teen years, he was drawn to gritty dramas by such directors as Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino. He started writing short films not long after and made them into films with school friends. His favourite TV show is The Twilight Zone and he sent himself on a quest to make his own episode 'The Container' - which he sees as a 'How NOT To Make A Film' learning curve. In 2014 he met and quickly became friends with Neil James and the two of them made 'Night Smiles'. That short thriller began a strong working relationship that resulted in numerous shorts. Wanting to try his hand at something else, Luke wrote and directed 'Threedom' - his first drama. With that, he won 3 awards including Best Original Screenplay - an award he cherishes dearly as he began as a writer. Wanting to honour his idol Rod Serling, Luke returned to his Twilight Zone roots and created ‘The Files Of Mystery' with his wife Serena. The two of them wrote 5 episodes and Luke directed them and gained a small cult following. After being inspired by filmmakers mentioned above as well as John Carpenter, Mike Flanagan and George A Romero, Luke is putting his 24 years of filmmaking to the test by achieving his dream of making a feature film before his 40th. He's carefully picked out his cast and crew and holds no fear in bringing you an original, thought provoking thriller.
