American Eagle #1 is the story of that disillusionment. Born in San Francisco as Jordan Hayato, the young American Eagle was raised in a Japanese internment during the chaos of World War II. Taking up the mantle of American Eagle to guarantee the safety of his family, Jordan quickly established himself as a hero in the United States military.
