The Story
After many years waiting and dreaming of imagining experiencing the world outside his Amish community, Jebediah finds a magic butter churn while on his pilgrimage of Rumspringa. The find sends him hurtling through on an amazing journey through time, space, and the infinite realms of pop culture. Hijinks ensue.
The character of Jebediah and his other Amish pals are based on the song of the same name and overall genius of
"Weird Al" Yankovic.

About the Producer
Erik A. Williams hails from the tiny town of Centralia, IL where his head was constantly heavy with dreams of living and working in Los Angeles. For nearly ten years he became involved with every independent production he could amassing an impressive resume of lead, principle, and supporting roles in an array of features, shorts, series, and other media. In 2008,
Rock Your Socks Productions was born which led to the production and distribution of a number of features, shorts, and web series. Those included the zombie feature
Redneck Carnage, the horror short
Scalpel which played millions of times across the planet thanks to being placed on heavy rotation on the
Chiller Channel, and comedy short
Orange You Super. Amish Paradise will be the biggest endeavor yet for RYSP.
My team's endeavor in this campaign is to garner enough money to make an amazing pilot to pitch to web series and streaming juggernauts like Netflix, Hulu, Yahoo TV, Geek and Sundry, Maker Studios, and the Nerdist Channel.

So what in the
world do I need all that money for? Well, since you asked, here's an
idea of some of things I will need to take care of to make this the best
production possible:
- Cast including renting a casting call location
which will possibly be needed for multiple days, paying every cast
member plus all non-speaking roles for every episode including promos
and the like. Also, I have HUGE plans to bring in some very cool actors that you are all familiar with, especially one with "Weird" next to his name.
- Crew including paying every crew member for every episode
and promos as well as including but not limited to writers, gaffers,
grips, production manager, camera ops, PAs, props,
location manager, etc
- Equipment including buying and/or renting including but not limited to lenses, a jib, track and dolly, etc
-
Music: Any good show needs a theme song and soundtrack. As many Al
songs as there are to choose from, that pesky word "copyright" gets in
the way. What I'd love to do is find an artist/band that does or could
play their versions of his music. We shall see...
- Locations including renting a main studio - I'd love to shoot it here but I have too many
roommates and that's not gonna fly - plus finding and renting
"on-location" locations
- Props: beards, buggies, and more beards!
-
Wardrobe: I'd love for all my cast to be naked for every episode but I
have a feeling that YouTube may frown on me for doing so. That being the
case, I will need to make sure there are clothes for my cast and a wardrobe person to assist.
- Transportation: Horse and buggies won't quite cut it in this town.
- Promotional materials and deliverables including posters, screeners, convention & festival swag, etc.

As
you can see, it's going to take a Walter White-sized barrel of money to
accomplish this show and do it right. But it will all be worth it with
your help!
So
what the heck are you waiting for? Go! Promote! Share! Go bother your
neighbor about that bowling ball he "borrowed" from you like five years
ago and tell him that he will really be bowled over by this project!
(See what I did there?)
Thank you!!!!!

RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Making this show as high-quality and entertaining as possible even
after reaching my goal is going to be quite an obstacle. It takes SO
MUCH freaking money to do a good show like this. I know from experience
having worked in the industry on all sides of the camera. I not only
want to make the best show possible to show people. I want to give my
cast and crew the best possible working environment I can muster. I have
worked on a great number of sets (including very recently) in which the
"underlings" like PAs and background are treated like gum pooped by a
dog under a shoe. I won't stand for it and that is not how my set is
going to be. I want to make
very sure that every single person that has anything to do with my
production will be compensated, fed, and treated not only like a
professional but like a person.
My other issue with this project is lack of social media followers. I
am everywhere online but I don't have nearly the following I'd like to.
I am going to do my very best to get the word out as well as I can. But
I am really going to need the assistance of every backer and supporter
to get the word out as well.
All of that being said, LET'S MAKE SOME MAGIC!!!
