We're baaaaack!!!!
We had a great first round of crowdfunding and we are currently in pre-production for our FIRST SHOOT on Sept 14-15!
We will be shooting our STUNT AND BLOOD/GORE HEAVY opening scene and using that as TEASER to push our crowd (and outside) funding to the next level! So stay tuned and FOLLOW US on social media to get EXCLUSIVE updates and BTS pics!
In the meantime, we figured we would open the crowdfunding back up (at a very low goal) so we could continue to offer perks and ways to support the Amityville Barbi cause!!!!
We will have a bunch of stuff relisted that didnt sell out last funder, and we will be adding some more goodies along the way! Let us know if there is a perk you want to see us offer!
In the meantime, heres the ORIGINAL PITCH describing the project!
Welcome to Deadsville Productions!
We are passionate about horror and comedy, and the joy of combining the two!
Do you feel the same?
Then HELP US create our first feature film!
WHO THE HELL ARE WE?
Hello!
I am Deadsville Productions founder Ronin James. I have been a stuntman/actor and stunt coordinator for 20+ years with over 100 credits in film and tv (Jae Greene - IMDb).
Before "falling" into stunts I went to school for filmmaking and have always been a gifted storyteller and entertainer. But stunts paid the bills and I was having a blast so filmmaking had to wait.
As my career grew, I was fortunate enough to get some opportunities to direct action, and direct a few 2nd units, and eventually I got back into directing my own short films.
About 6 years ago I teamed up with my partner Steph Infection (Stephanie Jones) and we brought a live event company called Horror Punks USA to life. When Covid shut everything down, we turned our attention fully to "content creation" like many others.
About 3 years ago, we decided to change the company name to Deadsville Productions and formed an LLC.
We produced multiple Dickie Devil and the Deviants music videos and created our own Deadsville mythos that eventually morphed into a "re-animated" sitcom: Deadsville Rock n Roll Mysteries. Featuring live actors shot on bluescreen, composited over cartoon backgrounds, with a puppet dog voiced by Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees Friday the 13th) DRNRM is a very Adult Swim style show. The rebooted pilot episode is now in post production and will be headed to festivals in late 2024.
Which brings us to our next project: AMITYVILLE BARBI: the Movie
We have done a bunch of skits, music videos, shorts films and a sitcom pilot over the years. Now it is time for our FIRST FEATURE FILM!
OUR PROJECT
Amityville Barbi: the Movie is our SHAMELESS HORROR PARODY of the beloved Barbie franchise! (note: as a parody we are completely covered by fair use copyright laws)
What if Barbi was secretly a Buffy style "slayer of evil" who moved into Amityville and had to battle Sam Raimi style dead-os??? That's the premise.
More on the PLOT
Barbi has a secret: She leads a double life.
To the public, and her friends, she is a famous Hollywood actress and fashion model. But secretly her family comes from a long line of demon slayers, and Barbi is the latest member of her bloodline to inherit the power and responsibility. Not even her longtime boyfriend Kent knows the truth.
So, when a housewarming party goes wrong, and evil is unleashed on Barbi and Kent's friends and family, Barbi's worlds will collide!
The dead will rise, and Barbi and friends will have to fight to survive!
THE WRITING TEAM
Steph Infection and I have been collaborating on skits, sketches and shorts for over 6 years now. Our content has connected with a wide audience of followers who enjoy our spooky shenanigans. We feel like we are the perfect team to bring an ass kicking, one-liner spitting, Barbi horror parody into the world!
Steph infection brings her love and extensive knowledge of Barbie to the table for this one, so expect lots of Barbie easter eggs and references. Steph also brings a woman's perspective to the script, which is important since our lead is a woman! In addition, Steph will have a small role in the film and will be an Executive Producer.
And me? I will be bringing some HIGH-OCTANE ACTION to the table as OUR Barbi is going to be one ASS-KICKING femme fatale! Expect plenty of martial arts fight choreography, wire work, and... if we can reach our stretch goals and afford it... maybe even a FIRE BURN!
So, imagine Barbi the Demon Slayer versus Evil Dead 2 (with martial arts) at the Amityville house with over-the-top blood and gore! Sound like a good time?
We think so, and hope you do too, because this is our FIRST crowdfunding campaign, and we need YOUR help!!
We have never done this before at Deadsville productions, we have always self-funded our projects. But those projects were always smaller scale, and with a bare minimum crew, with everyone rushing and doing multiple jobs.
This project is a FEATURE FILM with lots of moving parts and we want to do it right, which means:
-be able to pay and feed our cast and crew
-be able to afford high level special fx
-be able to rent locations
-be able to afford and rehearse all the stunts so our team stays safe
-be able to buy and fabricate props
And so much more!
Our goal is to make a fun, action-packed, splatter fest comedy that we as horror fans would want to watch!

OUR TEAM
Matt Burns - Producer
We have never done crowdfunding before, so it was important for us to connect with someone who had a good track record getting crowdfunded indie horror films made. Enter Matt Burns. An actor as well as producer, Matt has many successfully crowdfunded independent features under his belt including: Remnants (2020), Go Away (2023), The Only Ones (2024), Blood and Breakfast (2024). Matt gets movies made, so we are very glad to have him on the team!
Wesley Mellott - Cinematographer
With his first credit behind the lens coming in 2013, Wesley has over a decade of experience as a cinematographer. Wesley has also directed 24 shorts and features over the years, including Trick or Treat! (2021), Trick or Treat 2! (2022) and the upcoming horror feature Stalked (2024). Wesley's onset experience will be a HUGE benefit to the project.
Plus, Wesley will be shooting Amityville Barbi on his RED Komodo, so it will look fantastic.
Trick or Treat! directed by Wesley Mellott spfx by Isabell Isel
Isabell Isel (Trauma Queen FX) - Special FX
"Izzy" Isel is an award-winning special effects artist (Yester-Years 2022, Slaughter Beach 2023) who we have worked with on music videos in the past, most recently on Stalked (2024) last October with Wes and Ronin. Izzy is a pleasure to work with, and does an amazing job with practical fx, as you can see from these examples. We are very ax-cited to have Izzy on the team to develop our "deadie's" looks for this one!
OUR CAST
When we set out to make an action-packed horror parody, we knew we needed a cast that not only looked like a bunch of Barbie dolls, with good comedic timing, but that could also perform some high-level stunts and fight choreography.
Our first confirmed cast member is actress, martial artists and film fighter Stephanie Pham
Next up we brought in acclaimed actress and stage combat trained Jordan Hundley
And our third confirmed member of the cast brings his hilarious comedic chops from Deadsville to Amityville, Nick C. Kelly
More cast announcements COMING SOON!
What We Need & What You Get
Breaking it down for folks in more detail:
All funds raised will go towards paying our crew, and going bigger and better with the stunts and special fx!
We have a bunch of unique screen used perks coming soon, as well as the standard options for supporting the project.
Even if we don't reach our goal, we are still making a movie with whatever funds we raise, we will just have to dial back the stunts and some spfx pieces, but we will still have better action and comedy than most indie films with 10x our budget.
Risks & Challenges
Making movies is tough.
We have been in the business for over two decades and have seen projects come and go. A stunt coordinator is essentially a problem solver, figuring out how to get things done safely. We are confident we can overcome any hurdles that come our way and produce a fun, quality film.
