Our mission is to empower the world to become tinkerers, creators and innovators. We want to encourage people to think creatively about the world that they live in and how they can make it a better place. To get started, we want to teach people to build their own portable speakers and provide a digital platform for people to sell them. We provide the kits and instructions to help you build the speaker the way you want.

At my core, I have always been a creator. However, as I went through school, university and work, I lost touch with that nature and found myself pursuing a life, which was regarded as relatively ‘risk-less’. I often found myself too busy to do the things that I was curious about, prioritising my time towards education, work and relationships.
By chance, I was lucky enough to stumble upon an article detailing how to build a mini speaker. It was not until I was deeply immersed in building that speaker, that I experienced flow. That one project redirected the course of my life, now I find myself completely immersed in a community of creators and innovators, building things from Electronic Bikes to 3D printers.
In sharing my story with others it became apparent that very few people had experienced this opportunity. With that in mind, I wanted to start a Social Enterprise to empower people to unleash their Inner Creator. Our goal is to raise enough funds to build a marketplace, where people can actively collaborate, learn new skills and earn money in the process.
Oh, and we just happened to design a speaker kit where the end product looks great, sounds great, is better for the environment and has a positive social Impact.

AMPLFY has
teamed up with Substation 33, a Social Enterprise, which recycles Electronic
Waste, and provides programs to support people with disabilities and people
seeking long-term employment. In doing so, we have created a positive social
and environmental impact, reduced the cost of our kit, and made the kit easier
to bring to life for our builders.
For every kit
sale, not only will you learn how to build a speaker, but you will also help
teach someone the basic skills and theories of electronics. As our kits use
recycled computer batteries, dismantling and building battery packs is often
too dangerous for people with little to no experience. However, with close
supervision and support, Substation 33 is able to properly train people to
safely and professionally dismantle, assemble and build battery packs. Such
tasks require a basic understanding of electronics, and the skills necessary to use a
Soldering Iron. These people are also learning other essential skills such as
teamwork and critical thinking, vital to securing positions in the workforce.
For the duration of this campaign, many of the 'completed speakers' in the Perks section are built by individuals at Substation 33.

There are several
problems within the Portable Bluetooth Speaker industry. It is
widely considered to be one of the most saturated and overly competitive markets in the
world. Despite creating lower prices, such competition unfortunately generates several problems in the industry. AMPLFY wants to re-imagine the way speakers are used
and produced in order to eliminate these issues. To make this a reality we need your support.

The Problem with the Bluetooth Speaker Industry:
- Speakers are no longer built to last. It is common practice to replace an entire unit once a better version is released or technology improves. This adds to our electronic waste problem.
- The majority of portable Bluetooth speakers are manufactured in foreign countries with poor working conditions, where workers receive less than the living wage they actually require.
- Mass manufacturing has reduced the price of speakers, however customers still pay high premiums due to marketing efforts and increased perception of value. In most instances, these margins are not dispersed evenly among all employees of the company.
- R & D Investment goes directly towards innovations in speaker technology, however ignores issues which need our immediate attention, such as environmental and social issues.
- Due to the highly competitive nature of the market, traditional businesses have no incentive to share their learning and knowledge with customers and competitors.
