Prentiss wakes soaking wet and injured in the drivers seat of his car. Standing in the middle of an open field, he must trace back his memories in search of answers.
“And Then I Woke Up” is an examination of a mans life choices and of the changing world around him. Prentiss leaves home to immerse himself in research, all the while locking himself away from the outside world. During his time in the lab life above ground has drastically changed to the point of being unrecognizable. Home is a strip mall. The local mom-and-pop stores have been eaten up by larger corporate chains. Depressed, he dwells on the past and is eventually given a second chance at living in a way he least expects it.
This will be my second short film and it’s long overdue. I funded my last two films but this time I’m reaching out for assistance. Any donation is GREATLY appreciated as if not for you guys, this film probably won’t happen. So many thanks in advance for any and all support! Also to help fund this film, copies of my previous film, “One Day In January” are available for sale on the News page on my website. For more information please go to http://www.chrisaran.com
As for the project, we plan on 3-4 shooting days at the end of September and will be shooting on the RED. We’re currently in the process of location scouting and shooting will most likely take place within an hour to an hour and a half from New York City.
Updates will follow. Also, join our facebook fan page!
