ABOUT THE FILM

10 year old Matty Kentel is the first kid in town to collect every trading card in the popular Battlemonster franchise - and now someone has stolen all but one of his expensive cards, his least favorite monster: Folihog - the Battlemon mascot.
Was it left behind just to mock him? Is it an intentional trail of breadcrumbs?
Matty sets off on an adventure to discover the culprit and reclaim what is rightfully his.

WHAT WE NEED & WHAT YOU GET

Here's the deal. We've exhausted our resources on this film and collectively our pocketbooks are light as ever. Your funds will feed directly into the Art Department (BattleMonster trading cards, posters, t-shirts, lunchboxes, and a zany commercial advertising how INTENSE the franchise has become in this world)

A portion of your contribution will also go to the lovely Ellen Schauer. She's the one running craft services on set. It's important that food on set is handled properly and that there's plenty of it to keep everyone feeling at their absolute best.

Both food on location and art department essentials are crucial to a film like this - but if we're unable to meet our goal, we can't do away with food - so the overall production design will take a tremendous hit.

Your rewards for helping this great project come to life range from a signed DVD copy of the film to an associate producer credit in the film and on IMDB.
BUT - there's always an added bonus. A donation of any kind comes with something from our art department. Cards, posters, t-shits, the works.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS

PRODUCER/DIRECTOR  - ALEX RW

Alex Rhodes-Wilmere moved to Denver two years ago from the Chicago area where his company ARWorks was established in 2003. Alex currently studies at the Colorado Film School and has produced over 30 short and feature films since becoming interested and active in the process. And This Boy Had None is based on a true story that transpired when he was a child.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY - ROBERT HARDY

Robert Hardy is a cinematographer, writer, and musician who lives and works in Denver, Colorado. Since becoming hopelessly enamored with the craft of filmmaking at the University of Denver several years ago, Robert has shot numerous short films and worked on countless others in a variety of positions. He spends most of his time thinking about the psychology of light and the nature of art and aesthetics (which is a little weird). Robert is committed to telling meaningful stories with compelling characters and writes about all things filmmaking for nofilmschool, one of the leading independent filmmaking sites on the web.

You can read his articles here:

THE ART DEPARTMENT

Cooper Flanders is the focus and the director of all things prop and art related. Each member of the art department has their own personal tasks they must complete before our deadline and without each of them this film would never come to life. Every member of this team is either a CFS student or has worked on countless Colorado Film School projects. This talented team includes: Gizel Buxton, Jenna Gold, Don Greene, Christian Love, Paul Murphy, Alex Brisson and Andrew Shenk.

Concept Art by Gizel Buxton

GRAPHIC DESIGN- JENNA GOLD

In 2012 Jenna was going to school for art but she wasn’t completely satisfied. She love drawing and painting but longed for projects that allowed her to work with other people, so she changed schools and started making films.  She loves working with other people because it makes you better and keeps you motivated and the moment when you have been working so hard that you’re not sleeping but then all of a sudden one of the actors does something wrong or the director rips his pants and you can’t stop laughing.

ASSISTANT CAMERA - HAVEN STAPLETON

Haven began studying cinematography at the Colorado Film School two years ago and has since worked on films all across Colorado and as far as Louisiana and Michigan. He is forever working to improve his style and language and fights tooth and nail to improve any project he is involved in.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - SETH R. THOMAS

Seth R. Thomas is a southwest based filmmaker pursuing a BFA at Santa Fe University. He grew up in west Texas where he often attended international short film festivals and there fell in love with the art of short filmmaking. He went on to attend the Colorado Film School where he first met Alex Rhodes-Wilmere, and together they have successfully written, produced and directed several comedic short films.

SCRIPT SUPERVISOR, SECOND UNIT DIRECTOR - ALEX BRISSON

Alex has been making films for about 5 years now, primarily short satirical comedies. His greatest passion is writing, but he enjoys all aspects of film making. "I really enjoy being able to see my vision come to life on the screen and getting to make people laugh" says Alex. He is currently in his second year at Colorado Film School in Denver studying Writing/Directing. His favorite genres include comedy, sci-fi, and action movies, but he is a fan of all genres! His favorite movies include Back to the Future, Men in Black, and Army of Darkness and his dream is to one day create and write his own TV show.

You can see his work here: http://www.zombiesandwichproductions.com/

MR. WICK - GRANT BENJAMIN LEIBOWITZ

Grant Benjamin Leibowitz is a Colorado native who has a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Grant was a corporate slave before ditching the office job to pursue acting full time. He has acted in over 25 productions including music videos, short films, feature films, commercials, and demonstrational videos. Grant is an actor, comedian, model, and all around good guy. As an actor, Grant is wonderfully charismatic and is always digging as deep as possible into his characters to bring a believable yet unique performance to any role. Grant was our first choice to play the quirky homeroom teacher of Matty Kentel.
