ANIRIDIA is a psychological horror-drama (short film) that peers into the jaded life of 17 year old wallflower Parker and her brother Grayson as they search for understanding in the wake of an otherworldly madness consuming the neighborhood.

Parker navigates the cold landscapes of a shattered childhood as she struggles to piece one together for her ailing brother. With his medication slowly depleting and days without contact from their aunt, the two are forced to traverse miles in hopes of reaching the closest pharmacy before sundown. After walking for what feels like hours the siblings soon find that sundown never comes.
Time loops and bends as onlookers stand frozen, gazing into the unknown mass above. Those left indoors shelter in darkness clinging to the memory of days before everything changed. In the midst of the aftermath, the siblings begin to peel through fabric of reality as they search for their missing aunt, salvaging fragments of rose colored youth along the way.
After a strange shifting sky blankets the quaint suburbs of Clear Valley, Pennsylvania, residents soon find themselves standing at the brink of something beyond understanding.
We want to tell a story that pushes viewers past the thresholds of sanity into a world unraveling at the seams, where the things that lurk in the farthest reaches of our nightmares come out to play.
To make this happen we'd like to ask for your support.
Our team of student and indie filmmakers are trying to raise $8,000 for the 7 day production of ANIRIDIA with a stretch goal of $15,000.
Over the next few months, we'll be spending hundreds of hours working tirelessly to create something we hope cosmic & psychological horror fans will truly enjoy, but we can't do it alone.
ANIRIDIA is a student thesis production without the backing of a major studio or parent-production company. While we are open to discussions for any partner & placement inquiries, at the moment this project is 100% self and crowd funded.
What this means is, we rely heavily on donations from friends, family members, alongside other creators in the indie filmmaking community to keep our wheels turning. Safety, quality and creativity are our top priorities and we're striving to equip our departments with the right tools for the job. Your support will help bring this project to life by providing us with food & lodging for our incredibly hardworking crew as well as PPE resources for a safe set.

My film ideas all stem from an obsession with pulling the curtain back to reveal uncomfortable moments in the mundane. As humans our jovial repose in the ordinary gives power to the moments that break the cycles of monotony we create for ourselves.
I aim to utilize film as a medium to explore the dread and dismay that lurks behind the doors we keep tightly closed. Aniridia is a film that puts viewers at the moment those doors open. Its narrative explores metaphysical concepts that reflect the growing existential nihilism of aimless youth as we collectively disassociate from our realities.
Parker’s story reflects the isolation children today face as they find themselves lost in a world they can’t fully understand and how we tape together fragile windows of a better life while it seemingly falls apart around us.
The film’s world is heavily inspired by the works of Junji Ito & Andrei Tarkovsky’s “Stalker” which resembles a lot of the vast rolling fields where I grew up, which despite seeming endless, strangely felt isolating as well. My hope is Aniridia will serve as an existential wake up to the reality of an unpromised tomorrow, and to encourage people to hold onto the beautiful parts of life before it’s too late.
