Short Summary
We've created something that's never been done before. We call it a "BookVerse". And its owned and driven by storytellers.
Star Wars, Star Trek, Conan... those are trademark "franchises" owned and managed by giants. Not that they aren't kind of cool, but they are managed by corporations that hire writers to pump out stories where nothing ever really happens. Where there's no danger, no change... no consequences. In short, nothing to get excited about. Sure, the characters go on adventures and villains die, but, we all know that earth-shattering game-changers rarely happen.
It's a reality that many brand worlds are driven by sales numbers and not what's best for the story. Decisions are made, not because they serve the story, raise the stakes, or give the reader an unforgettable adventure that'll change them forever and leave them tattooed with the marks of a great tale.
We, Wonderment Media, want to make "story" the building block of our DNA.
We're looking to take our characters and our world and break it for your amusement. We're looking to wreck stuff and let you have fun reading it. We're building something... and we're tearing it apart. It's called The Apocalypse Weird. It's run by writers so writers and readers can finally do what they've wanted to do regardless of some "bottom line" that saves us from the consequences of great storytelling. What we're doing is dangerous, but we think that's where the fun is.
What is the Apocalypse Weird? It's Lost meets the End of Civilization. It's the Island in the middle of suburbia coming apart at the seams of reality. It's kinda like King's Dark Tower, but a whole lot stranger. But, most importantly, it's a story for readers and lovers of books like something that's never been done before.
It's dangerous, thrilling and it's definitely Weird. We even have a FREE introductory novel called Apocalypse Weird: The Red King to get you started.
But don't worry, we're not just making it up as we go. We have a five year story arc that's going to take our heroes, and villains, on a very strange and WYRD adventure. And at the end, it will resound in a stunning conclusion that will leave its mark on the publishing world, and you the reader.
In February of 2015, Wonderment Media did something that, as far as we know, had never been done before. As a start-up publishing company, we launched 5 weird post-apocalyptic novels (all written in the same Apocalypse Weird brand universe, but by different authors) on the same day.
With our launch novels we built a Sandbox, a carefully orchestrated collection of overlapping possibilities, where readers can come in and watch the adventures of small bands of survivors as they attempt to survive the catastrophic events taking place. Here, the machinations of 88 demons will tear them apart, and bring them together, forging a whole new reality within the Apocalypse Weird.
We've already put out 9 full novels, and we're launching two more books a month for the next five years! As of right now we have over 571 reviews on Amazon, collectively, and books 11 and 12 are in final production now.

Everything the industry has said can't be done, Wonderment Media and our growing stable of talented authors is doing.
They said an author can only write one GOOD book a year - well, that is nonsense. They said readers don't want "different," and that a MARVEL-like connected world could not work in literature. They said "releasing books like TV producers release episodes will never work."
But, we've done it just that -- and we need your help to keep on doing it.
We've proven the concept, now we want to take it to the next level. We want to push out more books, hire more writers, pay artists, editors, and professionals, and deliver the absolutely best literary entertainment out there.
With 10 books out to date, not only are readers embracing a new and exciting way to receive their kind of stories, but they are eager for more.
So now we want to fund our Apocalypse Weird project through the end of the year!
This means we'll be handing out more writing contracts, paying indie artists, freelance editors, and more. We'll be giving readers more good stuff to read, one Apocalypse at a time.
What We Need & What You Get
Risks & Challenges
The Challenge for us is to continue to produce high quality manuscripts that look and read like something the The Big Five Publishers would be proud to distribute. We believe that you get what you pay for.
To that end we've hired editorial staff, professional formatters, and the THE BEST cover and interior artists. We've paid them what they're worth instead of trying to get by with less. Take a look at our launch books and check out the reviews - our high standards are definitely paying off.
But to do this requires enough cash flow to keep all of this going in between earnings checks from Amazon and other retailers. We know it will take a year until our cash flow balances. We are raising money so we can continue producing top quality books.
We have the talent, the stories, the method, and the pipeline to make this effort work -- we're doing it right now. We need your help to keep doing it.
