Medical advancements aren’t made in cold laboratories by
robots, they are made by people. The
really great ones are pursued by people who have a passion for what they are
trying to help. For our small group our
passion is back pain, something that affects millions of people. Very few people haven’t been touched by a
family member or friend who is dealing with a form of back pain. We’ve spent years working to get a new
medical technology to the people who need it, back pain sufferers.
Every year 400,000 people have to make a difficult decision
on how to treat their back pain from disc problems. Each year we take to get this technology
where it needs to be, 400,000 people are going to have to settle for what is
available for their choice of treating their back pain. We want to get this safer alternative to
their doctors to give them some safer options for their patients. We also need to show the interest people have
to get this injectable disc. A crowd
funding effort will accomplish both of these, and we want to get past our next
two goals as fast as possible.
Our spinal implant technology is a method of constructing an
artificial disc replacement inside the disc space without removing the tendons
and anatomy stabilizing the spine.
Basically we found a way of only replacing the part that is defective,
the disc nucleus. This method will be a
vastly safer and more physically stable procedure than fusing or complete
replacement. But as you can imagine,
there is a long road to go from creation to surgery room.
For this we need your assistance. Our goal is as follows; our minimum goal is $50,000 to co-sponsor a bio-mechanical study with a major medical college, if we reach $250,000
we get to do the stress study and initial implant testing, if we reach
$500,000 we also get to do the hematological assays and start investigating
volunteer trials, anything over the $500,000 goes to fund a grant proposal designed
to offer treatments for spinal injuries to injured vets. We know these are some big goals, but if
everyone dealing with back pain just puts a dollar towards this we can have
this to hospitals in just a few years rather than over a decade of funding it
on our own. It will get done, we believe
in it that much, how fast is up to all of us now.
Donate if you want safer spinal implant options for you or your loved ones. Look up the current procedures yourself, then let us know if you would prefer our minimal invasive implant that only requires an incision the size of your fingertip.
This effort is to show the patient and market interest while
getting through the first stages as cost effectively as possible. With the right support we can get this
implant to patients as quickly and as cost effectively as possible. Together we can save thousands of patients and
give them safer surgical options.
Our CEO made us structure this as a purely study funding
effort. He, nor our staff, will be
pulling any salaries or pay from this effort.
Everything left after the costs of the processing and mailing the keepsakes
and team photos will go straight into studies to get this spinal implant to
back pain suffers as quickly as possible.
