For decades now, young and old have come to the Big Apple of NYC to make their way in the arts. Their road is long and hard, historically with little encouragement.
The emerging technology of digital currencies (like Bitcoin) offers a new way to encourage the artists of NYC. Think of AppleBytes as the digital era's answer to dropping coins in an artist's tip jar.
Imagine being at a concert, live performance, show, or any event and being able to give the artists some AppleBytes, right from your mobile phone, or with a paper wallet made for easy transfer.
When you see something you like, give the artist some AppleBytes! When you're at a concert, give some AppleBytes! When you're watching Youtube, give some AppleBytes! On Facebook, don't just click "like", give some AppleBytes, and post about it! If you have a friend in the arts, encourage them with AppleBytes! If your girlfriend is an artist, AppleByte her!
With AppleBytes, it is easy to gift your favorite artists electronically, first as token of appreciation, and eventually as AppleBytes become known in NYC, they can be exchanged for food, drinks, all kinds of services from local merchants, as well as exchanged for Bitcoins and other currencies on the new exchanges appearing all over the world.
And yes, AppleBytes can be given to any artist, anywhere in the world. Although we are starting in NYC, it is the nature of digital currencies that they can be used around the globe, in any city!

We are a group of artists and computer geeks, who love the arts, and are working hard to develop this exciting new application to encourage the artists of NYC!
Currently we have developed the server software, and client software to run on Mac and linux, and it is working! Miners are busy creating AppleBytes and over 50,000,000 have been mined!
Join us now in this amazing new project, and get the word out to fellow artists and art lovers. The initial $5000 funding will be used to complete the software development, additional funding will be used to get the word out to local NYC merchants and show them how they can accept AppleBytes, and to fund efforts to teach artists and their fans how to use AppleBytes.
NOTE: We are not affiliated with Apple, Inc. Our name comes from "taking a bite out of the Big Apple" NYC.
