Welcome to the Second Chance Campaign for ARMSmasters!

ARMSmasters is a 32 page full color action adventure comic book inspired in equal parts by superhero western comics and anime and manga action.  If you love things like the Battlechasers, Final Fantasy or Guardians of the Galaxy as well as The X-Men and Street Fighter or if you're just looking for a fun action-adventure romp -  then  ARMSmasters will be right up your alley. 

A chaotic, mystical, and futuristic parallel world, serves as the setting for a clash of super powered adventurers over the most powerful magical artifacts known to exist. Whosoever gains control over the mythic Empyrean ARMS will have the means to have their most heartfelt wish granted. The stage is set for a war more then a thousand years in the making.

ARMSmasters takes place on a future-fantasy world during an era of common place magic and turbulent adventure. Mankind has harnessed the life giving energy of AETHER and used it to create a civilization dependent equally on magical and scientific theory.

Individuals who are capable of using Aether and also trained in various forms of military and martial arts become known as ARMSmasters in reference to their powerful skills and fantastic armaments.

In this  opening chapter of ARMSmasters, we are introduced to a cast of colorful characters as they struggle to navigate the perils of their time.  Creatures known as Fiends threaten everyday life and our heroes must contend, not only with these beings, but the ambitions of fellow ARMSmasters, rag-tag bounty hunters and individuals with dark ambitions and designs on their world.

ARMSmasters is the story of how a group of misfit mercenaries, despite their incredible power, struggle to rise from bottom of the barrel and are thrust into a battle that forces them to put their potential to the test. Throughout their journey we will explore lessons of heroism, family, empathy and faith even in the most bleak and uncertain times. The paradox of predestination vs free will and purpose, both destined and found, will help drive the plot.  

 

Additional Characters

Our first issue showcases several members of this expansive cast and as the saga continues more will join and undergo transformative journeys in this epic adventure. 

After a successful Kickstarter Campaign, The ARMSmasters team has come to Indiegogo for a Second Chance Campaign in order to expand our audience and introduce ARMSmasters to a new community of comic book fans and supporters of indie comic book publishing. This campaign is also an opportunity for those who missed out on original campaign after its completion.

Your support will enable us to:

• Print and ship copies of the book and additional perks.
• Compensate the artists and creators who have contributed hundreds of hours and their incredible  talents to bring the book to life.
• Provide additional capital for the ongoing effort of creating the follow up issues to ARMSmasters, beginning with an expanded issue #2.

ARMSmasters is being brought to you by a team of creatives with a strong portfolio in the animation and entertainment industry. 

We are creators as well as genre fans and want to create something by the fans and for the fans that captures a feeling of nostalgia while being rooted in modern story telling and presentation.

Michael Winn – Creator/Writer/Lead Artist

Michael Winn is an accomplished independent animator, story and visual development artist and the creator of ARMSmasters. Michael has been a presence in the entertainment and design community as an artist and project director on a variety of projects ranging from animation and pitch development to feature films work. These have included projects for companies such as Nissan, Warner Brothers, Sony, and others through various agencies and production houses through his studio, Alpha Omega Animation Design in the Metro Detroit area.

Mel Bontrager – Colorist/VFX/Finishes

Mel Bontrager is a multi-faceted illustrator, concept and story artist, and Co-Founder of Michigan’s Figment Forge Studio. They have worked as a concept artist, illustrator and animator in conjunction with creatives and studios locally and nationwide, for film, television, game, and print production. Projects have included NickToons’ “NFL Rush Zone,” Legendary Pictures' “Make It Work” docu-series, Zaya Toons’ “Iesodo” animated series, Action Lab Entertainment’s “I, Mage” comic series, as well as Producer and Head of Pre-Production for HBOMAX’s “SMASH” and Peacock’s “Supernatural Academy.”

Van-Andy Prevalus – Layout/3d/Concept Design

Van-Andy Prevalus is an accomplished illustrator, graphic artist and concept designer who is contributing layouts and finishes for ARMSmasters #1. Van-Andy has worked as a contract freelance artist on a number of projects ranging from commercial boutique work as well as studio work for development in television, games and feature films as well as graphic design for clothing apparel and look and style creation for motion graphic and multi media projects. Van-Andy brings his creative vision and talent with multiple mediums of creative expression and engaging sense of visual design and concept creation to ARMSmasters.

 

Risks and Challenges

The benefit of a second chance campaign is that the book is already finished and is just waiting to be printed and delivered! While delays in shipping  is always a risk in these creative endeavors, you -will- receive your perks in the estimated time for ARMSmasters #1.

ARMSmasters #2 is being offered as an add-on and an independent option for those who have already received a copy of the original Kickstarter Edition. As this is still a work in progress the pace of its completion is dependent upon raising the finances necessary for the contributing artists to be able to dedicate time to it while still meeting other responsibilities and obligations. Because of that, the projected delivery date for the digital and print editions of ARMSmasters #2 may fluctuate depending on the final amount of funding received but you will get a product. 

Transparency and communication is of priority importance to us and whenever there are delays or unforseen challenges you will be immediately notified.
