Using Art to Defend Israel and Syria from Assad's Chemical Weapons
Artists 4 Israel's Art Over War unites international artists to provide relief for those suffering from Syria's bloody civil war and to protect Israel from impending rocket attacks.
A4I is most well known for bringing global artists to paint the bomb shelters of Sderot. In that small city, on the border of the Gaza Strip, we learned the power that art has to heal the trauma of war and to bring international attention to a serious issue. We still are in touch with the children who cried and thanked us and the families that met us at every bomb shelter to thank us.
Now, we are committed, even in the most dangerous situation imaginable to bring the same hope through art to the Golan Heights, the site of current attacks from Assad and the rebel fighters.
Our artists are afraid, especially since there were two attacks in the very area yesterday, but we will not let that stop us!
Every Single Dollar Goes to Buying Paint
Artists 4 Israel has funded almost every part of this trip through direct donations. All that is left is the need for the spray paint to create our giant murals. Paint costs between $8 and $10 a can. We will be using over 1,000 cans. If we can raise $5,000, we are halfway there. Even if we don't reach the 5,000, all the money STILL goes to buying spray paint. It is that direct.
