About This Project
With the “Chrysalis: A Time of Change” Exhibition, we will showcase the art of a dynamic group of South Florida’s most talented rising artists working in an array of mediums, who are all graduates of the Artist as Entrepreneur Institute (AEI).
This exhibit represents one of the most important annual events for Broward County artists marking a time of change for those on the path of making their art, their business. The exhibit runs from May 29 – June 24, 2017 at ArtServe, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Our first goal is to raise awareness in the broader community -- global and local -- of the high caliber and diverse range of south Florida’s artistic talent. In particular, this exhibit is an opportunity to expand audience for each artist individually and all collectively.
Our second goal is to inspire and motivate our selected artists (and future DBA artists) to shoot for the moon in pursuing their passion for creating art and making their art, their business. Unique to this collective of DBA artists is training in social media marketing which builds upon business skills learned during AEI.
Our final goal is to reinforce the importance of art and cultural entities as important economic contributors to the community. Your support enables each artist an opportunity to not only exhibit their art, but also sell their art. In doing so, the artists grow as artist entrepreneurs and all involved benefit-the artist, the collector, the gallery and the community.

Why is this important?
To be an artist is to see the world in new ways. With “Chrysalis: A Time of Change” Exhibition, we want to help showcase the art of a dynamic group of South Florida’s most talented rising artists, many of whom are emerging or mid-career artists; assist in growing their careers as artists by bringing them well deserved exposure; and help more people feel the benefit of an artist’s attention to – and care for – the surrounding world.
Why Indiegogo?
Community. Art enriches the entire community, not just those making it. So we want to let the community enrich itself. With your support, we can make sure the “Chrysalis: A Time of Change” Exhibition fulfills its promise for these participating artists. Indiegogo also enables us to share the progress of the artists and the exhibit with a creative and committed global audience.
What Will Your Contribution Support?
With your help, the “Chrysalis: A Time of Change” Exhibition can emerge. Your contribution means that associated expenses not covered by the limited budget are met and ensure a successful exhibition. You will quite literally be breathing life into the “Chrysalis: A Time of Change” Exhibition vision. Funding for this project is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council.

Risks and Challenges
Phoenix, an award-winning nature and wildlife photographer whose works are collected worldwide, has organized and curated 11 solo exhibits to date, serves as President of the National League of American Pen Women-Fort Lauderdale Branch and has curated numerous juried exhibitions. In partnership with ArtServe, Broward County’s arts incubator, there is little to no risk to prevent the show and the rewards from going forward. Indiegogo is an important ingredient in supporting this project and with a successful campaign, we are confident this project will move forward on schedule.

We'd love to help you. First you might want to see if your problem is covered here. If not, please write to us (info@photographsbyphoenix) and we'll try to help!
Can I pay with Paypal?
Sorry, unfortunately not. Indiegogo has recently changed payment providers and no longer accepts payments through Paypal. All major credit cards are accepted.
Can I pay by check or bank transfer?
We are happy to accept donations in any form. Please contact us if you prefer not to use a credit card and we will find a solution.
* What will I receive for Perks with Art ?
With the intent to not burden any one artist more than another, perks that include art (levels $100, $300, $500 and $1000) will be distributed in a random order to ensure that a piece of art from each artist is distributed before beginning the cycle again. Chrysalis artists represent various mediums - including oil, watercolor, glass, ceramic, digital art, silk fabric, porcelain, mixed-media, music and photography - and smaller works and/or quality giclee prints (up to 11"X14" depending on the artist) without frames will be shipped.
