Risks & Challenges
Taking on such an ambitious project that showcases the 1940's and present day throughout the entire film comes with its challenges. Specifically for the scenes of the past. Location is key and we have a great historical presence in our nearby area that has done an excellent job of preserving their charm and look. We are doing everything we can to make this authentic. We will be working with our communities to allow us to use their locations to bring this era back life.
Our unique vision for showing the 1940's aesthetically will be through our camera lens. The choice was made to shoot on silent 16mm Krasnogorsk (Russian cinema prime lenses) with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera to blend digitally imagery with vintage, filmic lenses.
We will be using authentic props gathered from countless trips to antique shops across the tri-state area to fit the 1940's time period. Including but not limited to:
- Keystone silent 16mm film camera from the mid 1930's
- Vintage '40's home telephone
- Postcards written and stamped during and right after WWII
- Rocking chairs, tables, bed frame, clothing and much more!
