Defend Mages in Court

The game borrows the base mechanics of Ace Attorney, but adds another layer of complexity through the presence of magic. The game features a magic system heavily inspired by tabletop games such as Dungeons and Dragons. Magic and the mages who wield it follow very specific and detailed rules.
Use the Rules of Magic

Magic plays a pivotal role in how each of the crimes occurred. It is imperative that the player pay attention to how magic was used during a crime. By using the rules of magic, you can make deductions and prove if someone is lying to you.
Make Deductions

One of the key features of Attorney of the Arcane is the Deduction Prompt. At every step of the investigation, Tyrion (and by extension the player) must work through how exactly the crime happened. Throughout the game, Tyrion will attempt to make deductions based on the facts that he's learned thus far. During these moments, the player will be prompted to enter an answer to the prompted question. With each successful deduction, Tyrion moves one step closer to solving the case!

While working a case, you'll need to travel to the crime scene and investigate. Collecting evidence will be crucial to acquitting your client. You may even find details that law enforcement missed during their investigation.

Enter the Kingdom of Wyverngarde: a nation ruled over by an aristocracy of mages. Legends say that the Kingdom of Wyverngarde began as a small city-state located between two powerful nations. These two nations were at war with each other, and this city-state was constantly caught in the crossfire. The people of Wyverngarde worshiped the ancient dragons and prayed to their deity Bahamut for salvation. Whether it be by divine intervention, or by sheer coincidence, the last of the ancient dragons: Rathyn, appeared. Taking pity on them, he bestowed the power of the Arcane upon on a few select individuals. These individuals would later be known as the first mages of Wyverngarde.
With their newfound power, the village slowly claimed territory from the two warring nations. Weakened from their war with each other, both nations had no choice but to continue seceding territory. It was then that the Kingdom of Wyverngarde was established. And the mages who had brought victory went on to form the noble houses that currently rule over Wyverngarde. Wyverngarde enjoyed a period of prosperity for a time. However, generations passed. And the once benevolent noble houses became more and more corrupt. Using their authority, they began bending the laws of the land to their will. They abused the commonfolk that they once vowed to protect. And resentment began breeding among the commonfolk. It’s only a matter of time before these tensions come to a boil…

I will need a total of $30,000 in crowdfunding to complete this game with all of the content that I originally intended. The game will be composed of five episodes and 10+ hours of gameplay!

Each and every contribution will put me one step closer to producing this game without cutting any content. Up until now, I've been paying for this project out of my own pocket. Every bit of funding I receive will reduce the strain on me financially and allow me to invest more into making the final release the best game it can be.

Developing games as an indie will always come with its fair share of risks and uncertainties. Unexpected delays and complications can occur throughout production.
With that said, this is a project that I care deeply about and have wanted to make for a long time. I and many other people have put a lot of work into making this project a reality and I'm confident in my ability to bring this project to completion. No matter what happens, I will do everything I can to make sure this project gets made and released.

Not everyone can contribute financially, but that's okay! If you care about this game and want to see it completed, spread the word! Tell everyone who might be interested in it. A dollar can help with production. But I would get nowhere artistically OR financially without the support of my fans and followers!
