The idea for Audio Radar came when Tim Murphy, passionate founder of AirDrop Gaming, attempted COD with the volume at zero. Realizing the difficulty of enjoying inaudible first-person shooter games – half the dimension of the gaming experience – Tim built empathy and awareness for the unmet needs of d/Deaf gamers. His aim became creating a user-centered device that promotes inclusivity in the gaming world—a system that visualized 7.1 surround sound effects such as gunfire and footsteps programmed into today’s most popular FPS games. After two-plus years of development and 18 months of testing, Audio Radar is set to release.

Audio Radar isn’t only designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing users. Tested by full-hearing gamers, this device distinguishes the direction of sound for gamers without leaving them guessing. Whether your current sound system isn’t sufficient or you’re forced to play at zero volume, Audio Radar fortifies a full hearing gamer’s experience.

Installing Audio Radar is as simple as connecting the light bars and plugging in the panel. See the Sound without delaying software. No lag, just gaming.

Audio Radar works with anything that has an HDMI output, including Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC. For best results, output in 7.1 channel audio.

Audio Radar syncs seamlessly with in-demand FPS titles like COD Warzone, PUBG, Battlefield, and more.

Each bar adheres to any standard monitor or television to display sound based on intensity and direction. Set your light bars to match existing game color schemes or customize to your liking.

Audio Radar allows you to create fully personalized game scenes and presets. Customization of panel and light bar color is nearly endless. Switch between selfie, streaming, and different game presets at the touch of a button.

Whether hiding from your enemies or diving into a firefight, different moments of gameplay have different levels of sound. Dial in the accuracy of your light bar’s response to directional events by raising or lowering sensitivity in different conditions.

Not every game has the same sound environment. Program yours for a custom experience. Just swap between presets you’ve set up for your favorite games to keep playing all night without slowing down. Every aspect is customizable for different games and genres.

Create presets for selfie lighting or OBS scenes with full RGBW and brightness control. Switch to ring-light presets with the Pause Button, which temporarily stops light bar sound response and switches them to a setting of your preference. Whether you’re signing with teammates in the heat of a battle, or just need some streaming illumination, selfie mode helps you out.

Audio Radar has been tested by d/Deaf and hearing gamers for 18 months. Based on their feedback, we refined our design for sound sensitivity, adjustment capabilities, and the overall experience. Here’s what our gamers had to say.

Each standalone RGBW light bar easily attaches to any standard monitor or television. Simply place the bars on your monitor or TV and attach them with the non-damaging removable sticking strips. Using the six audio input plug-ins, connect each light bar. Join the given lightbar connection cable to the input behind the control panel and you’re ready to light up your gaming experience.

Jump into your in-game settings to eliminate non-important audio like dialogue, footsteps, and background sounds. Then, accurately trigger directional light cues by modifying Audio Radar’s sound sensitivity levels.

To spread the love for gaming, Airdrop Gaming will donate a unit to a school for d/Deaf students for every 4 Backer's Edition units supported on Indiegogo. Each control panel has the edition name engraved. You support the campaign, we support the community.

The original ideation of Audio Radar began in 2015, before FSP games featured 7.1 surround sound. Back then, most were 2.1 or 5.1 at best. But by 2019, things were different, and our idea became extremely relevant—and much-needed. That’s when we started developing Audio Radar, and we haven’t looked back since.

Our latest milestone was launching on Indiegogo—where we stand today. With the gaming community backing Audio Radar, we can level the field of gaming for D/deaf users.

As far as we’ve come, we know this is just the beginning.

For Audio Radar, we’ll be shipping worldwide (excluding only Russia and Brazil) utilizing 3-Day DHL-Express shipping. Domestic shipping in the U.S. will be free.

Innovation at AirDrop Gaming revolves around the trust and loyalty of the gaming community. Without you, we wouldn’t have had a successful eight years in the industry. Over time, we’ve developed processes to mitigate any issues that arise. With an established supply chain since 2012, we’re confident in effectively rolling out Audio Radar.

Still, there are some factors that fall out of our control, mainly in supply chain price fluctuations. These are subject to change due to COVID restrictions and the demand for electronic components. Throughout the Audio Radar campaign, we will make sure to keep our backers up to date with any updates and information.
