The Sink Rinser was born out of the annoyance of having to constantly use our hands to rinse the sink after brushing our teeth or washing our hands.
We thought it would be great if the sink worked like the toilet, flushing away all the debris on every use. Some newer bath faucets now include a pull-down sprayer, but that seems like even more work... having to pull down the sprayer and manually spray around and chase the debris down the drain, then slide it back into position!
There must be a better way...
Now there is!
Rinses the sink every time water flows!
Sink Rinser in Slo-Mo...
Although this seemed like a simple idea - there were several points we wanted to make sure were addressed.
- First, we didn't want a large and unsightly attachment for the faucet, that would require installation and would detract from the look of today's beautifully designed faucets.
- Next, we didn't think users should need to touch anything in order for it to work - wanted it to be hands-free.
- It needed to be compact and sleek so it wouldn't be unsightly nor take up too much space in the sink.
- We wanted it to fit on ALL sink sizes and types - universal.
- Lastly, we wanted it to be easy to install and remove, inexpensive yet well made to last.
We went through nearly 100 prototypes of various configurations, iterating often, testing and refining.
Starting with several tests for water flow pressure and diversion...
With many more tweaks and refinements and lots of 3D Printing...
We ended up with a few functional prototypes that were tested in real sinks...
We then focused on making it the most compact, adjustable, and universal solution. I think you'll agree, the end result is simple and effective. We 3D Printed many prototypes that we shipped to several users for real-life testing...
What We Need & What You Get
We have brought this along as far as possible...
From concept to design, through iteration, to a final, fully functional prototype.
We have mold-ready CAD files, an easy to remember and well defined name, many pictures of the journey so far and finally a demonstration video.
Now we need a little help to get the necessary tooling needed for Injection molding so we can produce these in the right material, at the right price and the best quality.
We'd like to start producing these in Bright White and Crystal Clear to complement most popular sink colors. We'd be open to adding additional colors if demand exists!
Risks & Challenges
The biggest challenge with this project will be in keeping our timeline to deliver a quality product. We're all familiar with the post-pandemic supply chain issues. We purposely waited until suppliers have become more stabilized and will be working with local suppliers where possible to mitigate these risks.
Of course, we will be totally transparent with our community of supporters and keep them informed at every step along the way.
