We started Coby with the mission to make a shoe that could improve your everyday life. With a long lasting relationship with Wool (our grandfather was a wool specialist) we developed a magical fabric that has incredible inner properties for our feet. Made from high-quality Merino Wool, and with our Softknit technology, we have been able to create a remarkable shoe that combines comfort, style and sustainability.

A fabric that repels water naturally

We source Merino Wool from sustainable and fair trade audited farms. We then knit the fibers in a small family-owned mill in Italy, resulting in our unique and super comfortable fabric. We have been able to develop along our Italian partners the SoftKnit technology, which has a structure resistant enough for footwear while, at the same time, add incredible properties Merino has naturally.

Full Sizes - If you typically wear a full size, we recommend the same size for the best possible fit and comfort.

Half Sizes - If you typically wear ½ sizes, we recommend sizing up for a more relaxed fit or sizing down for a snug fit.

We have seen that finding a shoe that is remarkably comfortable, stylish and, at the same time, sustainable is not easy. That's why we are here and our core mission is to add comfort to classic designs. Our Brand ethos is to change the way people move around the world and that has been our obsession since the very beginning.

After years of material research, development and design we are now ready to upgrade our product and present it to you.

1. We designed a MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and tested the market over the last 6 months. Which resulted in validating the product-market fit, and at the same time the materials and functionality.

2. We have now gathered customer feedback and we have learned the details people really care the most.. and iterated!! We improved our fabric with our SoftKnit technology (more breathable, soft and water friendly). We are opening sole moulds, with an advanced shape design to fit everyone, and with comfort on the top

3. We rebranded (and renamed our brand); we were formerly called Awel and renamed to Coby, which will give us this update on quality, brand and image!

Risks and challenges

We have spent the last 2 years developing the product, the fabric and our sustainable technology and our team has been working night and day to dial in the design, production, and logistics. We have closely worked with our manufacturers to ensure that quality control is met at every step of the process and sustainability best practices are first. We have teamed up with a third party logistics to ensure that we deliver your package as smoothly as possible. We understand that no campaign comes without any challenges. We are a startup with few resources and, if there were, we will not pay any amount on duties or taxes. We promise to communicate with full transparency and work around the clock to ensure your expectations are met.
