Axent Wear was started by two UC Berkeley alumni with an idea. An idea for some really great, unique headphones that had never been pioneered before. Or at least, not like this.

Presenting Axent Wear, glowing, badass headphones that let you blast your music and express your style. Help us make these into a reality by donating to our campaign. We need your support. Without you, none of this would be possible.

Who We Are

Axent Wear was created by UC Berkeley Alumni, Wenqing Yan and Victoria Hu, who both have a passion for art and creative technology.

Wenqing was inspired to design these cat ear headphones while working on a whimsical and quirky animation. Music plays a huge part in everyone's life and it would be great to share that music with your friends and family in a unique and creative way. With that in mind, Wenqing and Victoria set out to create the perfect headphones that would fulfill both functionality and style.

We have worked tirelessly over the past year to bring these headphones from mere drawings to a real life prototype. Thanks to the amazing public support and feedback, we were able to fine tune the prototype and make the adjustments that everyone wanted. While we are a brand new company, we will do our very best to bring everyone the coolest headphones!

What We Need & What You Get

We need at least $250,000 to pay for the cost of everything that's needed to produce these headphones. The donations you give us will be used to fund the molding, casting, production, packaging and shipping of the product. Every penny will be used to pay for making these headphones into a reality.

In return, you will get the coolest and most unique headphones. Each pair will come with fully functional external cat ear speakers, awesome LED lights, detachable cord, comfortable over-the-ears cushioning, rechargeable batteries, and much more! With your generous help, we'll be able to make these headphones as high quality as possible.

The Impact

We are a small and brand new company and without you, we cannot make it. Every donation matters to us, as this campaign determines whether or not we can continue working on these headphones or not. Without your contributions, we cannot afford to pay for manufacturing on our own, so please donate! With your help, we can bring cat-eared headphones into the world and make the universe a happier place.

    Risks & Challenges

We are committed to bringing you a great product, and won't settle for anything less. Thus, during our manufacturing stage, we will actively work with our factory to make sure that everything is up to our standards. We recognize that this might result in a delay in our manufacturing process if complications arise, and we find it very important to make sure that these are shipped in a timely matter, but we will prioritize quality. Rest assured we will notify everyone of what's going on so there will be no surprises.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • Can you turn on and off the cat ear speakers and LED lights?

Yes! Both the external speakers and the LED lights have switches to turn them on or off when you want.

    • Is there a mic included?

Yes! The mic is attached to the cord of the 3.5mm jack.

    • I accidentally ordered the wrong color/ put in the wrong address/ want to upgrade my perk. What do I do?

Please e-mail our customer service at AxentWear@brookstone.com with your full name, address, Indiegogo account name, and the details of your issue. We will put you in a special list to make sure you get what you intended to order.

    • Will the headphones be wireless or have Bluetooth? Will it have changing RBG LED lights? What about as stretch goals?

Probably not. We asked everyone what extra features they most wanted to see in the headphones and the top requests were over-the-ear cushioning for comfort, removable cord so the headphones can still be used if the cord ever gets damaged, and a mic for gaming. We've already included these features in the headphones that were originally supposed to be stretch goals only. We decided to go the extra mile and give everyone the features they wanted whether we reached our stretch goal or not.
Wireless and Bluetooth were not popular requests, however a lot of people asked for RBG LED lights. We originally wanted to add this as a stretch goal, but during prototyping tests, we noticed several issues that would make changing LED lights a bad feature to add. With single colored headphones, the clear plastic over the lights can be color tinted, so even in bright sunlight, the headphones will have vibrant color accents. With color changing LEDs, the clear plastic must be translucent white to allow different colors to shine through, but that also means the colors will be easily washed out in daylight. Adding more power to the LED doesn't help much since sunlight is extremely bright, and it will drain the battery very quickly. We can't just put in bigger batteries either, since the battery must power both LED lights and external cat ear speakers. Too many batteries will cause weight issues in the headphones and make them too top heavy. In the end, we decided it's best to have one single color per headphone that looks great no matter where you are versus many colors that will get washed out the moment you go outside.
