AYE TALKS! is aimed at spreading the word about a fairer, more prosperous, independent Scotland.
Celebrities,
artists and political campaigners will outline their hopes for the future at a special event in Glasgow on Sunday, June 1st.
When we started planning the event, one of the first people we decided to invite was Margo MacDonald, whose passion, courage and humour have inspired so many. A few days later we heard the very sad news of her death.
With the support of her family, we decided to dedicate the event to Margo. Although we couldn't have the privilege of her presence, her memory would serve as an inspiration.
AYE TALKS! has been organised by the referendum debating group AYE MAC, and is modeled on the celebrated TED talks.
Each ten-minute contribution
will be filmed in front of an audience by award-winning Scottish director Don Coutts and will later be made available online.
All contributions, no matter how modest, will be very gratefully received. Money raised will go towards hiring the venue and other costs directly involved in organising the event. Any funds left over will donated to groups campaigning for a Yes vote and charities supported by Margo.
AYE TALKS! will take place
between 12 noon and 6pm on Sunday, June 1st, at the Pearce Institute,
MacLeod Hall, 840-860 Govan Road, Glasgow, G51 3UU.
Entry is free. If you'd like to be part of the audience, just turn up and be prepared to clap your hands!
