Davorin and Julie love kids. They have fostered, mentored, loved, adopted, and supported children throughout their lives. They married and tried to start their own family, but did not get pregnant. However, God had other plans! God provided a sweet baby girl named Mataya for them. She has rocked their world and made parenting pure fun!

Davorin and Julie then began the adoption process through "A Family for Every Child", an organization that helps get children out of foster care and into permanent homes. Their homestudy was complete, they loved their caseworker Chris, they were submitting on children, and wham! Julie got the "Cancer Schmancer" diagnosis in early April. Doctor appointments, surgery, and chemo began, and adoption plans were put on hold. :(

UNTIL...Julie came across a post on an adoptive families forum a few weeks ago and sent their homestudy to the agency. The birthmother asked a few families more specific questions, and before they knew it, the Fundak family had been chosen to adopt a little baby due July 3rd! Julie and Mataya flew across the country, and Davorin came afterward. Our little firecracker, Ian Tate Fundak, was born on the 4th of July. He is a wonderful little guy with a sweet personality. He fits into our family perfectly. <3  We have been in Missouri for two weeks waiting for all paperwork to be completed, and SOOOO look forward to getting home so you can all meet the newest member of our family!

Now for the difficult part. Adoption can be very expensive (the alternative route is much less expensive, if you get my hint!). Our adoption will cost roughly $40,000 if all goes as planned (this amount covers adoption agency, attorneys, and court costs), and does not include hotel, flights, and incidentals. Because of the very short time frame involved, the Fundaks are asking for assistance in finding funds.

Our hope is that each person that this letter reaches can give a little something. Whether it is $10? $20? $50? $100?, ANYTHING helps fund the adoption of little man. If 100 people gave $20, that is $$2,000 closer to getting him home!
