Why do we make music?
It comforts the soul.
And when we realize that we are all part of one soul,
We begin to understand how music can be a form of communication.
Imagine going to one of the most terrible places on earth
And filling it with some of the most beautiful music.
On Tuesday, September 13, over fifty musicians will gather
from Germany, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, France and the United States
In Dachau
And perform the Bach B minor Mass.
It will be in memory of Noorunisa Inayat Khan
A Muslim Sufi woman who gave her life as a British spy
For Jews, gays, gypsies,
And all of humanity.
We will take inspiration from her courage
And make music as a collective prayer for peace.
