What the heck is this?
My senior capstone project, a short film about a punk band getting stranded in the middle of the desert on their first tour.
Bandwagon is a story about a group of four young musicians trying to start a semblance of a career, built on the promise of a record deal waiting in a punk club in Arizona. But once the overpriced rental van breaks down, everything else that was keeping the band together quickly follows . . .
At the risk of giving spoilers, this story is about a band falling apart, a topic that I have a lot of hands on experience with. The basis of this story comes from a place of catharsis, I want to tell a story that addresses my shortcomings at becoming a musician; either through my own arrogance, stupidity, or just by coming to terms that sometimes we were just doomed from the start. These are the things I want to talk about . . . and make a couple jokes along the way.
Most movies about rocks bands follow the arch of the rise and fall of a band from rags to riches and back to rags again. Bandwagon isn't about that kind of band, it's about the hundreds of bands out there that can't get off the ground. It's about the blue-collar bands that fund their own tours, who promote themselves online, who produce their own albums, and bands who's greatest aspirations is just to make it to the Warped Tour.
This is what Bandwagon is about.

If you are familiar with crowdfunding, especially crowdfunding for movies and short films, then the perks won't be shocking in the least. If you aren't familiar with any of this, there are tiered perks for contributing to this campaign, including:
Posters
DVD's
Screen credits
Get the chance to be IN THE FILM.
The more you give the sweeter the rewards.
What if we go over the goal?
That is never ever ever ever going to happen.
Never.
Nope.
Not going to happen.
. . . but if it were to go over the goal, any excess funds would be put into the art department. Better costumes, better makeup effects, and better sets. In other words, the things you see on screen will be better.
If you can't or don't want to contribute, please spread the word!
