Why do we need BasedGamer.com?
The gamer voice has become more prominent
than ever before. Through social media, game forums, and aggregator websites,
gamers have taken it upon themselves to demand a more sincere platform for
games journalism.
BasedGamer will be devoted to a community
driven by gamers. Similar to the popular website, “RottenTomatoes.com,” BasedGamer
will feature a genuine aggregation of game reviews and other great features.
BasedGamer’s
reviews will include written and YouTube reviews. Unlike other game-review
aggregators, BasedGamer will compile and score game reviews based on four
categories: Visuals, Storyline, Gameplay,
and Entertainment. The categories
will be rated via a simple, four-point scale: Excellent, Good, Okay, and Very
Bad. This simple grading system will define scores with much more clarity.
BasedGamer will also
include transparency, a platform for the gaming community, and monitor trolls
and astroturfers.

Who is behind this?
Hello! This is Jennie Bharaj. I am a humble gamer who
is passionate about video games. I
have made it my goal to highlight the positives of video games and the
games industry. I created BasedGamer.com to further my objective - for
myself and for my fellow gamers.
I have secured a team of dedicated people who will be working closely with me to create this website. They are very
passionate about the cause as well and are willing to put in sweat, determination, and hard
work to bring this idea to life.
The following is the current team breakdown.

requirements
15% UX/UI – Includes design

We are expecting to work with a team of five: two front-end
designers, one back-end programmer, one front-end programmer, and one testing lead.
Risks
As of now, a low number of sign-ups is a definite risk. Moreover, there has been a lot of recent incidents of malicious attacks targeting individuals and websites in the games industry. We are concerned about similar attacks towards BasedGamer.
Perks
BasedGamer's perks are very humble. They range from thank-you letters to being featured on the website.
I kindly ask those who would like to provide input in the creation of BasedGamer to consider donating to the larger perk packages such as "
Be The First!" or "
The Works!" Our top perks all include involvement with the creation of BasedGamer.
