Our Story

Process Pictures, LLC, in an independent film production company based out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Comprised of creative, talented artists (all from the UNC School of the Arts) that are passionate about the process and fine art of film, Process Pictures aims to create content that is beautiful and awe-inspiring, as well as telling stories that will reach wide audiences and invigorate the love for cinema. This July, we are going into production of our first ever feature-length, Romantic Comedy film: "Because You're Too Nice".

On a seemingly normal date with his girlfriend Karen, James gets smacked with a break-up. Why? Because he's "too nice". Devastated by the answer and not wanting to be alone, he quickly jumps back into the world of dating, much to the annoyance of Sarah, the hostess of the restaurant he brings all of his dates to. With help from his best friends and father, James must navigate through his insecurities to find a woman he can have an honest relationship with and trust not to break his heart again. And he just might find it. Of course, everything gets complicated when Karen comes back into the picture...

The Impact

By contributing to our project, you will be helping our small group of talented young artist utilize their training and talents to achieve their attempt at telling this fun and heartfelt story about love, friendship, and family. This film is a CLEAN FILM! There is no sex, no cursing, and no violence. We want our story to reach an audience of all ages and walks of life. When you come to see our film, we want you to have a fantastic time. As filmmakers, not only are we artists, but we are entertainers. To see you smile and enjoy our film is the greatest thing we could ever ask for.

You will also be helping the local and independent businesses of the Charlotte Metropolitan area, for all our locations showcase and highlight some of the undiscovered treasures of one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Many of them have been kind enough to open their doors to our production, and we want to return the favor by letting our audiences see what Charlotte has to offer! The film industry in North Carolina is slowly growing, and we want you to see that it's a great place to live, play, and create! This film is our love letter to our home.

What We Need & What You Get

Our goal is to raise $5000 for our production. The money you contribute to our project will go to:

  • Food - Our cast and crew needs to eat! We want to provide enough food to last our entire production.
  • Gas - Charlotte is a very car-dependent city. As we travel from location to location, we will need to be able to fill up our tanks so we can keep moving on. We plan to take the most fuel efficient routes and take a minimum amount of cars in order to conserve gas, and to reduce emissions to our lovely planet.
  • Art Department - Art department consists of set dressing, costumes, and make-up. Our film is not art department heavy, but we still need a few things in order to make our film look and feel marvelous.
  • Post Production - This will include creating DVDs, the Official Soundtrack, our website, and our fees for entry into various film festivals. We want to showcase our hard work and passion to more audiences, and also show what you have contributed to.

Don't think your contributions will go unrewarded! The more you contribute to our project, the more stuff you can get in return! We're offering special thanks in the credits, DVDs, the Official Soundtrack, T-Shirts, getting a seat at our premiere, Executive Producer credit, and even hanging with the cast and crew at a special dinner gala!

If we do not reach our goal, we will do what we can to the best of our ability in order to make this film. However, if our funds are too low and we are unable to make the film, we will put the money toward a smaller Process Pictures project, and we promise to our contributors that we will keep them in the loop for that project and what their money has gone toward.
