People get into emergency situations but they may not have the time or possibility to call for help using their cell phones. So we wanna introduce bembu to you. bembu stands for “bluetooth emergency button” and allows you to call for help with the push of a button!

Particularly women are often victims of violence and get traumatized, insecure and scared, especially when they are out alone at night or during the dark. bembu gives you safety and selfconfidence back though you have the possibility to call for help at any time.
Also parents no longer have to worry about their kids, because they have the possiblity to inform mum and dad in any situation.
Older or handicaped people have now a stylish alternative to the bulky, ugly solutions on the market.
In case of an emergency situation, bembu can send a message to multiple pre-defined recipients and guarantee the best help by providing your exact position. In this way bembu can inform your family or friends, the rescue services and the police, but also may deter the attacker through an acoustic sound signal, that help is already on the way. bembu is the perfect companion for you and everyone you care about! ... but bembu is a lot more!

To make bembu a day to day available companion we added a really cool feature that will help you through your rough day - 1 click and your smartphone catches your attention if you have lost it - THE PHONEFINDER!
In addition bembu has a lot of great passive features too!
bembu is free of electrical smog, it is waterproove, the battery lasts for 6 months ...
For all who want more, there is the experts-mode, which allows you to freely configure many more functions!

How does it work
The
functional principle of bembu is as smart as brilliant!
For installation you just need a Smartphone and the bembu-bracelet. You install the free bembu-APP and pair the devices once via Bluetooth. thats it!
When you press your bembu once, the PHONEFINDER will be activcated.
When you double-press bembu it gets you HELP whenever you need it!
All the functions can be comfortably configured in the APP.

The
application and bluetooth connection are only activated if the bembu-button is
pressed, therefore, it does not drain your battery. The application recognizes
the specific input and preforms the desired action.
bembu supports all common bluetooth-standards and almost every smartphone - so bembu will work even on older smartphones as well as on new ones.

high quality components and materials, as well as we implemented various
strategies to send the emergency notifications as quick and as reliable as possible. We provide best

We know that style and function are equally important. People, especially women, don’t wear big and bulky tech devices. In fact, they don’t wear “devices”, they wear jewelry. So we set out to create a bracelet that is both ... stylish AND functional.

Where we stand
At the moment we have working models and prototypes of the bembu bracelet. All prototypes are vacuum-formed and finished by hand. In order to take production to the next level, we have already contacted all the suppliers and manufacturers we need. We got the best price offers in order to make bembu affordable for everyone. Production costs per item are relatively reasonable, but the molds and minimum order quantity make it really difficult to carry out with our own funds.

As you can see from the chart below, we have done a lot of work in product development, redesign and testing with different prototypes.

Risks and challenges
It is important to us that our backers feel we are being open and honest about the challenges we face. Getting the quality of fit and finish we require from vendors – we have developed prototypes and are working to identify the vendors who have experience manufacturing precision designs.
The first was to make the button small and fun to use. We've spent tons of hours in our workshop testing dozens of different prototypes, some were made by us and some were ordered from other manufacturers. Finally, we found the best one and started working on the manufacturing plan.
The second challenge was connecting the button inputs to the app. The protocol we are using is very simple but some of the actions we wanted to preform were hard to program. We didn’t give up and after a few months of programing and QA, all the features we presented work prefect! We are proud of the stage we are in, everything works!
The third one is to make our concept work also with iPhones, currently we are trying to figure out the best solution
for iOS operation devices, because native sending of SMS messages by one click is not possible! We will keep you guys updated if there will be an iOS APP on the official start or not!
And the last point on our list is the quick-release connector, we still have to prove during our future endurance tests if our current version is stable enough!
How does
indiegogo work
Indiegogo is a crowdfunding website! That means people like us, try to fund a project, so
we need people like you spending money to be able to realize it! If we reach
our funding goal we ensure that everybody who participated gets his bembu (Perk)! If
we do not reach the 30.000€ everybody gets his money back like nothing ever happened!
