I am trying to raise money for my mom, Bev, who suffered severe complications after a routine craniotomy. Why anyone would call a craniotomy routine is beyond me! The craniotomy removed a brain tumor from her left frontal lobe that was discovered in June after she tripped and fell, hit her head and was given a cat scan to ensure that she did not have a concussion.
Before her surgery, Bev lived alone and was very Bev: lively, compassionate, and mobile. Currently, she is suffering from short term memory loss, confusion, inability to walk or stand, and is unable to care for herself in any way.
To make matters worse, like many people, she did not have long term care insurance or significant savings. We, my sister Perryn, myself, and Henry are committed to keeping her safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible. Because we do not know how long her recovery will take, nor how much recovery will be achieved, we are looking at a very uncertain and extremely expensive financial situation.
This campaign would cover a year's worth of in-home care, 24 hours a day. We do not know what the future holds, but are so hopeful that she can be well cared for and be in her apartment for as long as possible.
Please feel free to contribute any amount, even small amounts add up and will be gratefully received. It takes a village!
Thank you!
