O čemu se radi u ovoj inicijativi?
Što je dugo 4000km i ima 17.800m vertikalnog uspona?
Race to The Rock biciklistička utrka u Australiji. Tko će voziti još 2000km kako bi pomogao kronično bolesnoj djeci?
Siniša Babić, ultra-maratonski biciklist koji je u životu prevezao više kilometara, nego je udahnuo udaha. Koji vozi više nego spava, koji će 7. rujna 2019. u 6:22h startati 4000km dugu utrku Race to the Rock. Dodatnih 2000km kojima će spojiti sjeveroistok i jugozapad kontinenta, je dodatni „napor“ te posveta i humanitarni pothvat za kronično bolesnu djecu u bolnici Gornja Bistra. Sve to bez pratnje i podrške izvana.
Siniša ide Beyond The Rock i doslovno, ali i simbolično. Ovim njegov pothvat prestaje biti tek utrka „do kamena“ i postaje pothvat sa svrhom i simbolikom nadilaženja prepreka, guranja tj. vrćenja za one koji svakodnevno guraju na granici mogućeg – „Beyond The Rock“.
Beyond the Rock je polugodišnji projekt koji povezuje još dva humanitarna biciklistička događanja radi širenja ove ideje i postizanja humanitarnog donacijskog cilja projekta; Beyond Everesting i Beyond 24 Indoor (detalji u nastavku).

Bez obzira kako će završiti ova inicijativa podrške jer mu je želja daleko veća od (ne)mogućnosti, a odvažnost veća od pameti :D I vrapci na granama znaju da odvažne sreća prati, a kad su pripremljeni, opremljeni i iskusni, što bi ih to moglo zaustaviti?!
Zato ovo briga i tebe. Jer su troškovi veliki, a mali doprinosi ljudi velikih srca te troškove mogu smanjiti, put omogućiti i olakšati. Jer osim što put radi puta, izazova i avanture postoji, postoji i dodatni, humanitarni, put kojim ova priča ide…
Kako ti možeš pomoći da se (humanitarni) cilj ostvari?
Od svake donacije 2/3 idu za troškove, a 1/3 je donacija za djecu u Bistri. Za cijeli pothvat Siniši je potrebno 7000USD. Put, oprema, dnevni troškovi tijekom pothvata…
Kada se premaši iznos od 10 500 USD ( 2/3 - 7000 troškovi; 1/3 - 3 500 donacija), sve iznad je 100% donacija za dječicu u Gornjoj Bistri.
To je jedna donacija od 10 500 USD, tri donacije od 3 500 USD, 10 donacija od 1 050 USD, 525 donacija od 20 USD ili bilo što između :)
Kad se male ruke slože, veliki iznos postane mali, a onda opet veliki. Velik kao ideja koja stoji iza ove priče koju će simbolički Siniša „ispričati“ kroz okretanje pedala u pustinji na drugom kraju svijeta.
Za sve uključene u ovu akciju tu su znakovi zahvale i pažnje.

Kako točno pomažeš i što za to dobiješ?
Kampanja je jednostavna, a premisa je malim znakovima pažnje velikog broja ljudi postići cilj.
Radi logističkih razloga i troškova povezanih s njima materijalnih darova nema. Trošak donošenja čak i malih darova iz Australije je velik, Siniša nema gdje s njima dok pedalira, da ih i donese, trošak slanja poštom pojest će pola donacije.
U tijeku su dogovori sa sponzorima koji bi se uključili i osigurali dar u obliku popusta ili proizvoda za određeni broj donatora. Moguće je da će iskoristivost ovog tipa zahvale biti ograničena na Zagreb ili Hrvatsku. Ako ga dobijete, a ne možete ga iskoristiti, možete ga darovati nekome u grupi donatora (ili izvan nje).
Novosti će se objavljivati u ovoj kampanji te listi (grupi) donatora.
Svaki oblik zahvale i dar su prenosivi u slučaju da ga ne možete ili ne želite koristiti (članstvo u grupi, sudjelovanje na eventu…).
Postoje 3 donacijska „paketa“ koji su navedeni kao raspon (u opisu jer formular ne dopušta takav unos). Minimalni je granica, a sve iznad je do gornjeg iznosa je vaša dobra volja.
Darovi su mogući dodatak, a nadamo se podršci i i u slučaju da ih ne bude. Humanitarna komponenta ovog projekta već je mnoge potaknula da se uključe i podrže ga bilo doniranjem svog vremena, vještina, kontakata, prostora ili drugih resursa koji su osigurali da se ova inicijativa materijalizira, prenese i otvori drugima da se svojom podrškom uključe.

O utrci Race to the Rock
Race to The Rock je individualna biciklistička off road po australskom kontinentu duga 4.000 km. Svako izdanje ima novo startno mjesto, ove godine je to Port Douglas u Queenslandu, a cilj je kod stijene Uluru (The Ayers Rock), Northern Territory. Dodatno je otežana s 17.800 m vertikalnog uspona i prolaskom kroz pustinju gdje je mogućnost opskrbe pitkom vodom minimalna. Spada među najteže biciklističke trase na svijetu zbog dužine, vertikalnog uspona, pretežito pustinjskog okoliša i pravila utrke koji obvezuju natjecatelje da budu samodostatni. Ikakva motorna pratnja i korištenje besplatnog smještaja te hrane nisu dozvoljeni.

O Siniši (u prvom licu)
Moje ime je Siniša Babić, kemijski sam tehničar, programer i administrator računalnih baza podataka.
Posljednjih deset godina, iz sezone u sezonu, sve intenzivnije i uspješnije nastupam na ultramaratonskim biciklističkim vožnjama i utrkama. 2018. godine nastupio sam na Terra Australis Bike Epic – TABE utrci preko australskog kontinenta u smjeru sjever – jug kao jedini predstavnik iz Hrvatske.
Dva puta, 2016. i 2018. sam završio HARDCRO utrku kroz Hrvatsku, dužu od 1.400 km. 2015. Godine prošao sam ciljnom ravninom na brevet maratonima Paris – Brest – Paris (+1.200 km) i Tour of Hungary (+1.400 km).
Aktivan sam u randonneurskoj zajednici kao vozač, završio sam više od 100 brevet maratona dužina od 200 do +2.200 km, te kao uspješan organizator maratona kroz udrugu Randonneurs Croatie.
Nakon završetka TABE utrke dao sam interview na SBS radijskoj postaji. U veljači sam u Zagrebu i Samoboru održao predavanja o nastupu i dojmovima na toj utrci.
Moj motiv za nastupiti i završiti utrku RACE TO THE ROCK je velik. Vjerojatno ću biti jedan od rijetkih Europljana i još vjerojatnije, jedini Hrvat na utrci.
Podrškom ove priče i Vaše i/ili ime Vaše tvrtke postalo dio velikog dosega hrvatskog, a i europskog ultra-maratonskog biciklizma i generalno, ekspedicionizma. Također, dio plemenite humanitarne priče.

Što s prikupljenim donacijama ako Siniša ne ide na RTR?
Siniša ide i vozi Race to The Rock te nastavlja dodatnih 2000km u svim slučajevima osim onih koji su viša sila. Nećemo navoditi primjere da ne šaljemo misli u lošem smjeru no, ako se nešto dogodi – di predviđen za pothvat Siniša će iskoristiti za neki sličan pothvat koji će organizirati prvom prilikom. Zemlja je velika i 6000km na biciklu se može pedalirati u raznim smjerovima.

Siniša Babić is a ultra-marathon cyclist who has ridden more kilometers in his life than he took breaths in his lungs.He rides more than he sleeps and on 7th September 2019. at 6:22am he will start a 4000km long cycling race: Race to the Rock. Additional 2000km, which will connect northeast and southwest, is going to be an homage to and a humanitarian act for chronically ill children in Gornja Bistra, Croatia.
This act transforms his endeavour from being just a race „to the rock” to a purpuseful and symbolic venture of pushig – pedaling for those who are pushing on a daily basis onte verge of the possible; „Beyond the Rock”
Siniša is going Beyond The Rock both literally and symbolically. And all that without help and support from the outside.
Beyond the Rock is a semi-annual project which connects two more humanitarian cycling events, Humanitarian Everesting and 24 Indoor. Their goal is to spread this idea and achieve the humanitarian donation goal of the project. Details below.

No matter how this support initiative will end Siniša still has and will have a big wish to go “down under”, and some will say more courage than brains. Everyone knows that the bold luck accompanies and that nothing can stop them when they’re prepared, equipped and experienced.
The truth is that the expenses are big but contributions from people of great hearts can lower the expenses and make this trip possible. At the end, it’s not just about the trip itself, or challenge and adventure, it is about the humanitarian act, act of kindness to those who need it night and day. And that act to be kind will power Siniša through the whole endeavor.
How can you help to make this (charity) goal come true?
Out of each donation 2/3 are going to cover trip expenses and the 1/3 is going for the children in Gornja Bistra.
For the whole venture Siniša needs 7.000,00 USD. This will cover the trip itself, gear, daily expenses during the trip…
When exceeded the amount of 10.500,00 USD (2/3 – 7.000,00 expenses, 1/3 – 3.500,00 donation) all other donations, 100% of them, are going for the children.
Every donation counts, no matter how small or big, because at the end it’s for a good cause.
For everyone who decides to include themselves in this support initiative Siniša will bring a small sign of gratitude, a gift.

How exactly do you help and what do you get back?
The goal of the campaign is simple, with little signs of kindness from a great lot of people we can achieve exceptional thing.
Because of logistical reasons and the costs associated with them there are no material gifts. The cost of bringing even small gifts from Australia is great, and also Siniša has nowhere to place them while pedaling. There is a way to send gifts by post but the cost of postage would “eat” half of donations.
Donation packages and perks in English are listed below due to space limitation in the perks section on the right side. Please scroll down to see them. You will reckognize them on the right by the name and the amount.
We are trying to start a deal with the sponsors so that they can provide a discount or a product to as number of donors, as a gift. It is possible that the usability of this type of thanks will be limited to Zagreb or Croatia. If you get it (discount or a product) and you won’t be able to use it, you can donate it to someone in the donor group (or outside of it).

About the race
Race to The Rock is an individual bicycle off road race, on the Australian continent, which is long 4.000 km. Each edition of the race has a new starting point, this year it is in Port Douglas, Queensland, and the goal is to get to the Ayers Rock in the Northern Territory. The race is additionally aggravated with a 17.800 m vertical climb and passage through the desert where the supply of drinkable, or any kind of water, is minimal. It is one of the most difficult cycling routes in the world due to its length, vertical climb, mostly desert environment and race rules that oblige competitors to be self-sufficient. Any kind of motorcycle escort and free use of these foods are not allowed.

About Siniša
My name is Siniša Babić. I’m a chemical technician, programmer and computer database administrator.
For the last ten years, from season to season, I've been performing more intensively and more successfully on ultra-marathon cyclists rides and races. In 2019 I performed at Terra Australis Bike Epic - TABE race across the Australian continent in the north - south direction as the only representative from Croatia.
From June 2nd to June 9th of this year I drove and completed a 2.200 km long brevet marathon in Italy called 5. GIRO CICLISTICO DELLE REPUBBLICHE MARINARE.
In the years 2016 and 2018, I finished HARDCRO race through Croatia which is over 1,400 km long. In 2015 I finished the brevet marathon through Paris-Brest-Paris (+1.200 km) and Tour of Hungary (+1.400 km).
I'm active in the randonneur community as a cyclist. I had finished more than 100 brevet marathons which had differed in length, from 200km to plus 1400 km. I am also known as a successful marathon organizer in the Randonneurs Croatie association.
After completing the TABE race I gave an interview on the SBS radio station. During the second half of February I will hold lectures about my trip to Australia, in Zagreb and Čakovec. In the lectures I will talks about my performance and impressions of the race.
My motive to compete and finish the race RACE TO ROCK is enormous. I will probably be one of the few Europeans and most likely, the only Croat on the race.

What will happen to all the donations if Siniša doesn’t go to RTR?
Siniša will go to Race to The Rock and after he finishes his first 4000 km he will continue another 2000 km for the sick children in Gornja Bistra and only some kind of the greater force can stop him. If something happens and he won’t be able to finish the last 2000 km he will start on some kind of other venture as soon as possible. The Earth is big and you can cycle 6000km in various directions.

20 – 59 USD Beyond the Self
Tvoja mala kap koja pomaže tkati ovaj veliki slap. Donacija koja je relativno malo odvajanje od sebe i odricanje od nekog svakodnevnog užitka, nekoliko piva, kolača ili novu majicu koju ćeš propustiti radi drugog užitka – osjećaja koji slijedi dobro djelo i traje zauvijek.
