Short Summary
My name is Shandell Maxwell, a resident of Tustin California and the writer/director of Black Behind the Orange Curtain. I have a sincere passion for serving my community and raising awareness on social issues that impact our community. I am also the founder of Captured Innocence, DBA which is a multimedia and consulting company based in Orange County, California. I have lived and attended school in Los Angeles County, Riverside County and Orange County, and I have experienced the cultural difference amongst each county.
I felt it necessary to develop a not-for-profit film that provides a platform for the African-American community to share their stories about living behind the infamous “orange curtain” in hopes of raising awareness at a community and national level.
