You’ve been driving all night. An endless Ontario highway stretches out before you with nothing but the occasional burned shell of an old barn dotting the scenery. The coffee’s long since worn off. Your eyes are weary. You haven’t seen another living soul in hours. You’re practically laughing with delirium. Suddenly, the outline of a small town crests the horizon. Perhaps it’s a sanctuary for a weary traveler. Perhaps you can stop at a motel and get a few hours before heading on with your journey. It beckons to you. Inviting you. Lulling you towards it. But the closer you get, the more you feel it. The chill. The stillness. But more than anything, you feel the darkness. It begins to surround you, like it can see every bad thought you’ve ever had. Uneasy, you feel maybe you shouldn’t stop after all, but you know you will anyways. A cruel wind seems to be whispering “You’re home.” And then you see the sign “WELCOME TO BLACK HOLLOW”.

Founded in the early 1800s, something dark has plagued the town of Black Hollow since its inception, crawling its way into its darkest residents and terrorizing its most helpless. By daylight, the town is a quaint portrait of small-town Canadian life, full of wonders, good people, young love, and even a growing art scene. But in the unforgiving night, it is a place of damnation that encourages evil to flourish in the most unexpected of places.
Spanning different eras of the town’s storied individuals, the series will explore the creeping dread buried at the heart of every small community. Ancient grudges, curses, deals with the devil, and the blank-eyed stares of doppelgangers spoken of only in whispers as “the hollows”; these are but some of the many tales hidden in the shadows of Black Hollow, Ontario.
Inspired by horror anthologies past and present, Black Hollow will add a slice of small-town Canadian life to stories that wouldn’t be out of place on The Twilight Zone, Tales from The Crypt, or any of the Eerie Comics back catalogue.
