Story:
A young girl's Irish ancestors were brutally slaughtered during a gruesome Viking invasion. Her dreams are soon haunted by her ancestors' past lives, as a series of dark events force her to fight for her life and the lives of the townspeople. Have the Vikings cursed the land?

The comic book is dedicated to Mo Whelan's father, Patrick Whelan, who was born in Clonmel, Ireland. (April 27th 1940 - May 18th 2000)

Mo was diagnosed with a small unruptured brain aneurysm in 2016. Her aneurysm has been stable since the diagnosis. Therefore, a portion of proceeds will be donated to The Brain Aneurysm Foundation.

Why Vikings in Ireland?
Patrick Whelan use to tell Mo ghost stories when she was a child. Once when she was walking through an area in Ireland with her cousin, he mentioned they were walking through a Viking cemetery. He said it was haunted. So, she decided to write a story loosely based on that concept.
WHAT YOU GET:
Issue #1 of BLACK RIVER is the introduction issue to a 2-part series. Issue #1 contains 22 full-color pages of beautiful artwork telling the story of a Viking invasion of a small town in Ireland which leads to a teaser of the next issue.
The purpose of this campaign is for supporters to buy the 1st issue of the comic book along with some special perks. A portion of the funds received from this campaign will go towards the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
