Hi, I am Maiya N. Skye the founder of Tailoreds, a Mens Grooming Club in Washington DC. I am a Licensed Professional Barber and while traveling around town and servicing my clients, I discovered a major problem that I know most, maybe ALL, clipper owners have; protecting our clipper blades from chipping and shifting. I simply could not be the only barber who would arrive to a client and notice a damaged or offset clipper blade after removing them from my traveling case. The car ride, potholes, picking up, bumping, placing down had them dancing all around in my traveling case… So, the idea was simple; a quality, universal protective clipper guard.

The Blade Protector provides real time protection where an operator can attach the device to a clipper blade while in use, not in use, in transport and or storage.

In the beginning , I had the idea of just protecting the most important pair of clippers to me. My Andis T-outliner trimmers. My clients value precise and crisp edge lines with their haircuts. Setting, calibrating and adjusting those clippers to produce a quality cut and line is a experience within itself. You can only imagine the disappointment in my eyes when I pull them out of my traveling case and my precious setting is visibly offset or the blade is broken . It really makes you shed a tear. 

The Blade Protector device prevents damage to the teeth of the blade which could possibly be caused by impact from another object or from being dropped on a hard surface.  Along with the shock absorbent fins, the blade protector utilizes a magnetic hold, whereas the guard attaches securely onto the upper portion of the stationary blade. 

After developing the initial concept, I realized I couldn't just protect my trimmers, I needed to protect all of my clippers! They all are equally important to me and how I make my living. So I developed the concept for not only trimmer blades, but adjustable clipper blades and those tiny cordless clippers most clipper companies are now producing. 

The Blade Protector is universal amongst all major clipper brands. Andis, Wahl, Oster, Conair, Remington, Promate and more. I discovered they're hundreds of different shaped and size clipper blades. As companies are developing new blades, Tailoreds will remain the forefront in clipper blade protection. This device holds two U.S Patents that are currently Pending.
