Our Indiegogo campaign has ended, but you can still support our work here: www.bluemind.life
Start 2018 off by participating in the production of the Blue Mind Movie, an inspiring documentary based on the international best-selling Blue Mind book that has sold hundreds of thousands of copies and has been translated into a dozen languages and formats!
You can make a splash and create oceans of change in 2018 by:
Author, marine biologist, and catalyst of the blue movement, Dr. Wallace J Nichols, his production team, Blue Mind Digital, and Working Pictures are taking a deep dive into the surprising science that shows how being near, in, on, or under water can make you happier, healthier, more connected, and better at what you do. The imagery and message in this film are a journey that will blow your Blue Mind.
This film adaptation of the Blue Mind book and movement connects the dots between neuroscience and economics as well as water and wellness by focusing on the often overlooked cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual benefits of being in or around water.
Translating Blue Mind to the big screen is an opportunity to share the life-changing science of our brains on water. It is also an opportunity for people who want to embrace their best Blue Mind to pre-purchase the movie or invest in its production.
Did you know that two-thirds of Americans reported being stressed about their future? A disturbing health trend is that during these troubling times, "tuning out" has become self-care.
We can do better and it doesn't involve lengthy treatments or medicine.
Blue Mind benefits include:
Best of all, achieving a Blue Mind is free.
You'll see how a broader understanding of the true, full value of healthy waters and oceans creates a virtuous cycle and positive feedback loop of protection, wellness, and restoration.
Modern lives are consumed by agitated “red mind” emotions, yet Dr. Nichols’ Blue Mind movement has identified how water can influence each person’s health and happiness.
"I first discovered my love of music through the motion of water, my imagination ran wild."
~ Pharrell Williams
You are in LOVING HANDS!
Meet the “Keeper of the Sea”:
Dr. Nichols releases a rescued sea turtle in Indonesia.
Well known for the global phenomenon, the Blue Marbles Project, Dr. Nichols is a modern-day Jacques Cousteau. Having devoted his life to inspiring the Blue Mind movement, he has authored more than 200 scientific papers, technical reports, book chapters, and popular publications; lectured in more than 30 countries and nearly all 50 states; and appeared in hundreds of print, film, radio, and television media outlets including NPR, BBC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, National Geographic, Animal Planet, Time, Newsweek, GQ, Outside Magazine, USA Today, Elle, Vogue, Fast Company, Surfer Magazine, Scientific American and New Scientist.
Known as “J” to friends, family, and fans, Dr. Nichols is our tour guide across the waterways of the Blue Mind Movie. Dr. Nichols knows that being part of something bigger than ourselves can help us heal and focus on what really matters. At every turn, he encourages people to disconnect from the grid and reconnect with themselves, those they love, and the special places they care about. This is why GQ Magazine called him the Keeper of the Sea and Outside Magazine went into much greater depth, calling him a visionary, silo-busting, entrepreneurial scientist, movement maker, renown marine biologist, voracious earth and idea explorer, wild water advocate, bestselling author, sought after lecturer, and fun-loving Dad who loves turtles (a lot).
"If J. weren’t curious, we wouldn’t be where we are now... It's time for us to update my grandfather’s prescient words by explaining them, and, by doing so, changing our understanding and our consciousness of our place on the planet, who we are, and what goes on inside and between us. It’s about reconnecting our sense of self and soul with our waterways and oceans. It’s about finding creativity, clarity, and confidence in our deep blue minds.
My grandfather would go there, and so will we.”
~ Celine Cousteau
Blue Mind was the cover story in Outside Magazine.
In short, it is a privilege to be collaborating with him on this historic movie. We promise that jumping into these collaborative waters will change your life and, in turn, change the lives of those around you. It's the ripple that initiates the waves change.
The ripple is already in motion!
The Blue Mind Movie will explain the topics defining how Water is Medicine, including: anthropological studies of indigenous people, therapeutic benefits for physical injuries, chronic illnesses, strokes, diabetes, heart disease, neurological disorders such as autism, multiple sclerosis, mental health issues such as: anxiety, stress disorder, eating disorders, and memory, in addition to social issues including civil rights, social justice, and community building.
We'll visit neuroscience labs where leading researchers are beginning to unlock the potential clinical applications of "our brains on water".
We'll meet families, organizations and communities where Blue Mind has transformed lives and fixed what's broken in ourselves and nature.
From ocean shores to urban waters to swimming pools, water intersects our lives in ways seldom imagined, touches our hearts in ways never forgotten, and penetrates our brains in ways rarely explored. Blue Mind will reveal just how vital water is to each of us by offering original topics and explorative conversations with leading experts.
"I'm always happy when I'm surrounded by water...it makes me put my whole life into perspective."
~ Beyoncé Knowles

Catch the wave!
Our blue planet is in a red mind crisis and we OWE it to ourselves and to future generations to create a huge wave of Blue Minded people. Therefore, the Blue Mind Digital team is counting on YOU to join this important movement and help us create a film that marries art and science by revealing the truth about the physical and emotional battle that rages between peace and fury.
With your participation, blue will conquer red and by the conclusion of this incredible journey, the terms “Your Brain on Water”, "Water Is Medicine" and “I Wish You Water” will be more than just clever catch phrases on tee-shirts (only available through this campaign), they will have significant meaning to the way we approach each and every day on our home blue marble.
"As we got farther and farther away it diminished in size...shrank to the size of a marble, the most beautiful marble you can imagine. That beautiful, warm, living object looked so fragile, so delicate, that if you touched it with a finger it would crumble and fall apart."
~ James Irwin, American Astronaut
