Who We Are:
My name is Johanna Rosario and I am the director of "Bodega Diaries".
My name is Corey Seng and I am the producer of "Bodega Diaries".
Why Now?
Our story is important because it shines a light on the often-overlooked and heart-wrenching realities faced by individuals trapped in the cycle of broken homes, addiction, and intergenerational trauma. Through the experiences of Anabel and her family, we explore the profound impact of domestic strife on the lives of those involved, especially the innocent children caught in the crossfire. By supporting this crowdfunding campaign, you're not only helping bring this poignant story to life but also contributing to a broader conversation about the importance of mental health, family support, and breaking the cycle of adversity. This film offers a unique opportunity to foster empathy, understanding, and dialogue surrounding these critical issues, ultimately inspiring positive change within our communities and society as a whole.
What We Need & What You Get
- We are looking to crowdfund for our New York short film: "Bodega Diaries", and hope to raise around $10,000.
- For each donation, all supporters will receive a reward or "perk" for their generosity and support of our project!
- We appreciate everything and anything that is offered to us to make our vision come to life!
The Impact
Feel free to explain more about your campaign and let people know the difference their contribution will make:
- Although the story may seem niche, "Bodega Diaries" contains values which are still relevant and omnipresent today.
- Focusing on creating content for minorities and POC, "Bodega Diaries" is a tale which introduces a new narrative into a genre which seems to have been thoroughly covered already.
- We intend to showcase a real narrative about a subject seldom discussed in mainstream media, "Bodega Diaries" is the perfect vehicle to showcase the powerful role of women within 1990s New York society.
Risks & Challenges
- Film production is a difficult and costly experience, and we understand how fiscal donations are not always viable.
- All support is welcome, we are also open to in-kind donations: food, shooting locations, or even supplies as well!
- While our target number is $10,000, we will try our best to make a product we are proud to showcase to our viewers and supporters,
