BOOGEYMAN POP
If the player is giving you trouble check out the trailer HERE:
Hey guys,
My name is Brad Elmore, I'm the writer/director of the feature film Boogeyman Pop.
Over the course of the summer, with a modest budget of around 75k, my crew, actors, and myself set out to shoot our punk rock horror epic. Boogeyman Pop is a coming-of-age teen drama ensemble that examines adolescent life through a genre lens with a tinge of trash culture tropes. Think Carpenter's HALLOWEEN meets RIVER'S EDGE and THE VIRGIN SUICIDES. It's three interlocking narratives over the course of the first night of summer break in a pacific northwest town, weaving in and out of a rowdy punk show. We've shot just over 3/4 of the film already, and need just enough to finish out the rest of what would be the third chapter in our story, which centers around a bit of good 'ol fashion mayhem and movie violence. We'd like to shoot this over the coming spring of 2016 in what amounts to, for us, one more week of filming. We already have our equipment for this, so the cost is going entirely toward production value and the hiring of actors at scale wages along with a very special analog animated effect.
Most of us are aware of the shifting climate in film financing, with the gulf between the large studio franchise fare and the prestige piece drama being bigger than ever before, leaving more left field dramas and niche films to exist in the micro budget world. There's no fighting it. For the most part, if you wanna make unique movies, you gotta do it in a unique and crafty way, and crowdfunding has become an essential tool in raising funds at this level. The benefit to this on a filmmaker's end, is that there is a lot of creative (though not financial) freedom to see their ideas through without much interference. For the audience, the benefit is in helping curate the types of films and ideas they'd like to see come to fruition, and make out with some neat and exclusive items in the process.
My team and I take a great pride in getting the best production value out of what is essentially a catering budget by typical movie standards. From my righteously talented DP Gneel Costello, to my actors, who are a mix of young up-and-comers like James Paxton, Dillon Lane, Greg Hill, and Dominique Booth, to more established character actors like MC Gainey and Raul Mendez, to my producing partner Alix Von Renner, we're all doing this as a labor of love. Nobody is making a lot of money and everybody is bringing their A-game. Why? Because we LOVE MOVIES. We especially love good ones.
This movie is being Executive Produced by Chris Weitz for the same reason, because HE loves them too. He, along with Alix, stepped in to help gain the initial financing after seeing our first film THE WOLFMAN'S HAMMER, a feature drama we (myself and my same DP) did for 10k (!) on a Rebel T2i, which you can check out in it's entirety for free HERE:
I'm very proud of it. Now we're trying to do something a little bit bigger. And bigger for us is gonna need a little push. And that's where YOU come in. And if you wanna help and don't have the scratch, hey I get it, then you can help simply by spreading the word and sharing this puppy wherever you can, if you feel so inclined, cause we need all the help we can get.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE EXCEED OUR GOAL?
Well that would just make the movie better. So we TOTALLY want that.

NOTE ON THE PERKS: these perks were designed to maximize the money going onscreen, cause at the end of the day that's what really matters, making the best movie we can.
PS THE MUSIC
The music in this trailer is by three different musical acts.
The opening track is by a super groovy horror rock band known as
THE WOLFMEN OF MARS, who you can check out here:
The next eerie song in the middle section is done by my dear friend Mark Green, who lives in a cave somewhere in the pacific northwest and is only available by carrier pigeon I presume (email me for serious inquiries).
The last song, that misfits-esque punk screed, PHANTOM OF THE MOTORWAY, is by a group THE MANGLED DEAD, who rock pretty goddamned hard, you can find them here:
