Short Summary
My name is Jonnathan Strawthorne. I live in Canada. I am a husband, father and grandfather. I love telling stories not only verbally but more importantly in the written format. I have authored and published three fiction novels and to date I have invested $34,000 usd of my own money into this endeavor.
Because of the goals I have and the desire to expand into the graphic novel realm I am compelled to raise capital from third parties for the venture. I want to share my stories with as many people as possible and to leave a legacy when I pass away. Storytelling is my passion. I love blasting off into the what if of imagination. My desire is to entertain, emotionally captivate and intellectually stimulate the reader or viewer.
You, the contributor will be a part of a multi-generational experience. Ultimately, over time, we may have the stories in a mini-series video format or silver screen film. Additionally, we may have merchandise sales, millions of books sold and hundreds of thousands of graphic novels and audio books sold as well. I want the stories to become best sellers and I want you the contributor to be a part of the process. I cannot accomplish this vision without your support.

The Impact
The book industry is massive. Estimations put the United States at 300,000 plus books published per year. Of that amount 40 to 45,000 are fiction. To be successful in the industry it is important to be heard and that takes a quality product and a large amount of marketing (public relations).
Goodreads.com has 45 million subscribers so it is abundantly evident the popularity of reading is not waning. Instead, due to the internet it is increasing at an exponential rate as more and more people join the worldwide web. It is imperative for authors who want to be successful in book publishing to get the word out across various mediums whether that be radio, television, film, internet, pod casts, blogs and social media. For that to be done effectively it takes money and lots of it. That is the reality.
The film industry produces billions of dollars worth of content per year. I am currently in discussions with Kirk Shaw a film producer out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to develop a television series for either HBO or Netflix for The Causality of Time series of books. He produced the film The Hurt Locker which won an academy award in 2008.
As I mentioned earlier I have three books published; The Causality of Time (Book 1), The Causality of Time: Conception (Book 2) and A New World Order (Book 1). They are starting to experience increased sales and with increased funding and marketing I expect the numbers to continually increase over time. The first book in The Causality of Time series won the Literary Excellence award.
By accomplishing this vision we will create characters, worlds, and stories that will entertain generations of people to come. You can be a part of that process. You can be a part of the legacy. You can have the pride in knowing you were a pivotal aspect of reaching those goals.
Risks & Challenges
It would be unfair not to mention the risks and challenges involved with this endeavor however let me temper it with the old say, "nothing ventured, nothing gained". The risks associated with the project are:
- My demise
- My health
- No interest in the stories
- Slow or no sales of the books
- Slow or no sales of the audio books
- Slow or no sales of the graphic novels
- People cannot or do not want to read anymore
- Too many books on the market in the genres I write in (supply/demand).
- World War III
- Global Pandemic
- Zombie Apocalypse
