I'm William Sutphin, an audio drama creator, and filmmaker, based in Los Angeles. I began my career in New York City, where I was an award-winning film student at Columbia. Taking home a DGA award for my short film, "Uncle Killa".
Lately, my interests have shifted towards audio dramas and I am working on my second, a multi-episode work of historical fiction called "Booker and Olivia Build A School." I have long wanted to tell this story of the founding of one of our great HBCUs and the incredible, largely unknown, story of how Olivia Davidson played a leading role in the partnership that created Tuskegee.
Our community needs to hear inspirational stories like these. We'll need your help though, to do it right.
My last audio drama "Hoodwinked", a 6 episode dramedy, came in at just under $6000, it can be found on most audio platforms. "Booker and Olivia" is a more ambitious undertaking and thus our goal of raising $7500 or more is appropriate for the scale of professionalism and talent that will participate in bringing this story to your ears.
You can be sure that you will be included every step of the way in the progress of "Booker and Olivia Build A School" and the anticipated launch is Black History Month 2022.
It's important that we tell our stories, our way and with me, you can look forward to a narrative that celebrates and respects our struggle and history.
For your generosity in helping bring this story to life, I thank you most heartedly.
