“To make a film about the history of THE SONICS is a daunting task. It’s a big epic story, with many twists and turns. And it includes many people, and countless other bands and musicians. We want to make a film that upholds the legacy of this great band, and introduce a whole new generation to the earth shattering music that helped shape the history of what was to come.
Our goal is to tell the untold story of the rise and disintegration of one of rock and roll’s most influential bands. And really show how their music lived on and slowly planted its roots in almost every great movement in music since. From the proto-punk of The Stooges, to the punk scenes in New York and the UK, then to the grunge of the early 90’s all the way to the garage-rock revival of the early 2000’s... THE SONICS are the true unsung heroes of Rock and Roll. And one of the only reasons (some) music doesn’t completely suck today.
And then top it off with the story behind the most unlikely of reunions... the second coming of THE SONICS.
Visually we are committed to making a big cinematic journey for our audience. This film will be big, bold and badass. Just like the band.”
