BowCAD ist a program specially developed for the construction of bows. It offers a new approach in the field of bow construction by giving more planning certainty.
BowCAD enables to create a 3D-model with functions easy to use. Subsequently the physical parameters like bending stresses,displacements, forces and their distribution will be constituted and analyzed by FEA simulation model. In this way the bow constructer gets the possibility to make corrections in time already to the virtual bow and to create it like his own wishes. That saves material, money and you complete your bow more quickly.
Although bow construction is a handcraft that is based on experience you don’t need to make all these experiences on your own. If the bow is too weak, bends wrongly or even breaks it is very annoying. In most cases you have invested a lot of time, money and effort. Resources you could have used much better.
You see, BowCAD is a program which takes the negative aspects of bow construction and conserves the fun of the completed bow. BowCAD will be available for Windows and Macintosh.

Chris, 44 years old mechanical engineer and passionate bow constructor
Joe, 41 years old software engineer and started bow construction as a result of BowCAD too ;)
We have been friends for 20 years. When Chris told me of his idea of BowCAD first time and we decided to translate this project into action we were not really conscious of the huge obstacles we had to remove. The higher we climbed the further away the peak seemed to move. Now we are sure to be shortly before the finishing line. Only some last steps. These steps we want to go with you together.
We have developed BowCAD for the purpose that you can create better bows… and of course we as well ;)
