What is a Bricks and Minifigs?

Bricks and Minifigs is a retail franchise with 11 locations across the country.

At a Bricks and Minifigs, you can:

• Buy, sell, and trade new, used and discontinued sets
• Purchase individual Minifigures or pieces
• Buy bulk Lego bricks
• Host Lego-themed events like birthday parties, corporate gatherings, or engineering classes utilizing Lego products
• Enjoy the company of fellow Lego enthusiasts!

Funding

We need $130,000 to open our franchise. This covers the franchise fee, inventory and all start-up costs.

Why do we want to open a Bricks and Minifigs?

We fell in love with this franchise the moment we walked into the Kailua, Hawaii location. My husband, Jason, was fast approaching the end of his service contract in the Air Force, and we instantly knew this was how we wanted to spend the rest of our working years. We want to work side-by-side and put smiles on people’s faces by providing excellent products, wonderful services and a place for Lego enthusiasts of all ages to call home.

Why we're crowdfunding:

We’ve saved $50,000 on our own, we’re debt free, have credit in the 800’s, but the banks are still hesitant to loan us the $100,000 we need. For many, it’s just too low a number. Some want to see it on the SBA approved franchise list before they’ll act. Others insist we both have second jobs (after my husband's service contract ends in April) before they’ll lend us the money. How they expect us to work full time AND open a business is something I’ll never understand.

If we can crowdfund at least $50,000, we can secure a personal loan for the remaining balance.
