This year we have been working with the CONvergence Guests of Honor Department to develop a pilot program for a new type of guest called a "Fan-Featured Guest". Fan-Featured Guests are brought in by outside groups with approval from and working directly with the CONvergence Guests of Honor Department. The funding for bringing in a Fan-Featured Guest is provided entirely by the group bringing the guest and can be crowdfunded, fund raised, or privately donated. We are hoping the Fan-Featured Guest program can be made available to the entire CONvergence membership for CONvergence 2017. But first...
We need to do a proof of concept. Gargoyles & Young Justice creator Greg Weisman, fantastic sport and notorious sucker for bribes of pie and any chance to talk to more fans about his YA book series, has agreed to be our guinea pig. We decided to opt for the crowdfund route to let the CONvergence community show their support for this becoming a reality, with some nice rewards for everyone who donates. If this crowdfund is successful, Greg Weisman will be CONvergence's first ever Fan-Featured Guest.

Any money raised above our goal will be put into a contingency fund to support other groups bringing Fan-Featured Guests to CONvergence in the future.

Because the money raised by this crowdfund campaign is going directly to the CONvergence Guests of Honor department, and because CONvergence Events is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, all contributions made to this effort are tax deductible! Yay!
