Short Summary
"Brunch" is a collaboration between mother-son team Christine and Matt Farrell. It's a dark comedy about nine millennial friends falling apart at the seams as they try to go out for brunch. It's about the tension underneath drinking bottomless mimosas over avocado toast while the world is collapsing around you.
What We Need & What You Get
We have a base budget that we've raised independently, but we're looking for your support so that we can raise the bar on what's possible for this short. The primary thing your contributions will enable us to do is to compensate our cast & crew for their time.
This is an actor-driven, ensemble piece and we want to bring the cast together in for rehearsals before production so that we can workshop the material and allow them to bring their life experience in to the roles. That's a big ask for everyone involved and we're looking to expand our budget so we can support the artists we work with on this journey.
Your contribution will also expand our ability to access equipment that can help us tell this story. We need cameras, lenses, dollies, gimbals, lights, vans, insurance...filmmaking takes A LOT OF STUFF. The more resources we have available, the better we can tell this story.
For perks, we're offering a flat structure because we recognize everyone's in a different financial situation and we appreciate whatever you can offer. Everyone who contributes get the same package:
- Your name in credits of the film everywhere it screens and streams.
- Updates from set and throughout the process.
- A copy of the script so you can track the evolution from the page to the final product.
- A pre-release digital screener of the film.
- An invitation to our premiere party.
