Short Summary
My name is Tamara and I am a mother and writer. There aren't any other things in my life that I am more passionate about. My writing career began in the Army where I served as a Photojournalist and Public Affairs officer (46Q) for 6 years, with one tour in Afghanistan.
I was recently awarded a $2,000 scholarship to the Gateless Academy to help finish, edit, and traditionally market and publish my novel, Buttermilk. The remainder of the academy is $4,500. I am trying to gather the remaining cost of the 10-month program before the first part of the Academy starts in late September with a little extra to pay some bills so I can concentrate on writing over freelancing my life away.
The program director contacted me personally to award me the scholarship and shared that my manuscript was one of the best she had received out of thousands they are sent every year. I am grateful for the opportunity and would hate to miss it because I do not have the rest of the money.

I am a disabled veteran and single mother and since COVID, I have not had the work available to me to save money to budget in this type of training. Your support will not only help me fulfill my dreams of becoming an author and publishing this book, but I will be able to prove to my daughter that everything is possible no matter where you are at in life if you just ask or put yourself out there.
What I Need & What You Get
What I need is simple, funding to help me proceed with the Academy and a little extra to support me through the 10 months.
All those who donate will receive a signed published book with a handwritten letter from me thanking you for your support.
The Impact
Your donation will allow me the dream of becoming an Author. It allows me a deadline and a process. I suffer from a personality disorder, anxiety, and depressive disorder due to events that took place in the military, which makes it hard for me to maintain steady work. I am constantly in therapy and have had no help with disability from the VA. However, being put into a program to help me finish this novel will give me the structure I need to follow through.
It gives me hope, and I know that when this novel is published, It will be a #1 best seller. I have known it from the first word I typed. Due to my disabilities, there will be challenges. I need structure, accountability and guidance to complete this body of work, and that its what the Academy offers.
