We have been working on our cactus collection of accessories since 2020. After we perfected the design we had some brave belt testers wear our belts for just over one year.

Our stylish collection of accessories are:

We have a dream to bring our new collection of cactus accessories to life. The collection is simple: 2 BELTS & 1 WALLET made from new CACTUS TECHNOLOGY.

The material is ground breaking: compared to leather or other faux leathers, it uses hardly any water. And, the cacti plants absorb 500% more carbon dioxide out of the air compared to the animal agriculture industry.

The top and bottom layers of the belts are made from cactus. The inside layer is made from recycled car tires.  The buckles are nickel-free and have micro-adjustability.

The biggest issues with other belts

You've probably had some issue with belts in the past. Taking people's issues into consideration, we came up with belts that solve all of your issues. The number one complaint that people have shared with us, is that their belt cracks at the holes. We've taken EVERYTHING into consideration when designing our new cactus belts. Don't worry, we've got you covered!

Meet CACTIRE collection

Here are the two belts you get to choose from: the CAZ and the NOPALINI. One is a bit more casual and the other is a bit more dressy.  The slim wallet is practical and oh, so cool looking! It's hard to believe these belts are made from cactus!

We started working on this project in 2020. The samples have been perfected and tested and we are ready for production. All that is left to do is order the minimum order quantities of the raw materials. We need your help to bring this project to life!

 Why the buckle is so amazing!!

Holes. There are no holes in the strap. Our nickel-free buckles allow for infinite adjustability. They hold the strap in place with pressure. You can adjust these belts just 1mm or 1/32"! So whether the last 2 years of lock down have turned you into a chunk or a hunk or a monk... this belt will always fit you!

The ratchet belts have been the rage for many years now. However, the pressure buckle belts have taken center stage with their infinite adjustability feature! 

What exactly is cactus material?

The cactus material is the newest, most innovative material on the market. The material was developed in Mexico by a company called Desserto.  The material was first showcased in October  2019 in Milan, Italy. They have been winning awards for this material! It's being used in upholstery for furniture and cars, handbags, shoes and now belts!

Cacti requires hardly any water to grow. And, cacti can grow in the most infertile soil conditions where no other plants can. 

The specific type of cactus used is called the Nopal cactus, otherwise known as the "Prickly Pear". But don't worry... our belts are not at all prickly!

Nowadays climate change is one of the biggest challenges that humanity has to face, in the future prolonged droughts, deforestation and increased population. 

The Nopal is capable of growing on land where other crops cannot. Cacti can be used for the restoration of degraded land in many countries, it is the only crop which can be trust where all the others have failed. This plant by its own right should be among the miracles of nature. The cultivation of Nopal was originated in Mexico which is still the main producer and consumer in the world.

We are honoured to be using this material in our belts and wallet!

We've had some brave "belt testers" wear our belts as far back as April of 2021, to ensure we nailed the quality. One of our 'belt testers' recorded the video below.  He had been wearing the CAZ (casual) belt  almost every day for 13 months.

Risks and challenges

In today's world, you never know what is going to happen. There is a risk that there may be delays in the shipping of our raw materials, or the shipping of the belt and/or wallet when we ship to your address. That is why we are choosing the date of November 2022, believing it will be sooner than that.

Environmental commitments

Long-lasting design

The biggest complaint about belt is the cracking at the holes. Our belts have no holes, so they will not crack! We use a special pressure buckle that help to maximize the longevity of the belt. We have also been testing the belt on "belt testers" for over one year. The belt is still in great shape after one year.

Reusability and recyclability

The packaging will use recycled cardboard. The middle layer of the belt is from a recycled car tire dump.

Sustainable materials

The cactus material is a new groundbreaking material that is gaining popularity. It's being used in car and furniture upholstery, shoes, handbags and now belts.

* Cactus is a natural carbon sink, it has a great CO2 sequestering capacity.

* From our 14 acres, we are able to absorb 8,100 tons of CO2/year while at a farm, only generate 15.30 tons of CO2 annually.

* It takes approximately 3 leaves of cactus to create one linear meter of Desserto.

* We only cut the mature leaves of the plant without damaging the plant itself, enabling repeat harvest every 6-8 months from the same plants.

* Our USDA certified cactus is grown in an organic farming system in the fertile and mineral-rich region of Zacatecas, Mexico.

* Cactus naturally regenerates soil.

* It only takes 200 liters to grow one kilogram of cactus biomass which water is absorbed by the plant itself from humidity present in the atmosphere, compared to 1000 liters (on average) to grow the same kilogram from other crops.

* Cactus is a tough and resilient specie, adapted to extreme conditions able to survive in areas where nothing else will grow.

* Cacti can grow in severely degraded soils, which are inadequate for other crops.
