Life doesn't end at 40. Give me calloused hands and tender hearts. Let's change the narrative together.
My name is Doug Murano. I'm a South Dakota-based writer, publisher, husband, father of four--and, as of September, 2020, an accidental inspirational meme. What began as a simple tweet (see below) has now traveled around the world several times and touched millions of people. In the months since I published the tweet, it has been featured on sites like Upworthy, The Female Lead and Bored Panda. I've also heard from folks of all walks of life who have gained strength and inspiration from this simple thought. I've been amazed and humbled by the response.
I want to keep inspiring people, but I need your help to take this idea to the next level. Let's bring these words beyond social media and into the real world--with style--to move even more people to be their best selves. I want to do this together.
What I Need
Because I'm a father of four young children, I don't have the seed money I need to bring my hopes to fruition. The money from this campaign will fund:
- Equipment for development of a Calloused Hands, Tender Hearts podcast. This includes a mic, a dedicated PC and software.
- The freedom to say "no" to other freelance writing projects while I focus my time and talents on this project.
- The expansion of product offerings at a number of price points. I want this to reach as many people as possible. This will likely include coffee table books, calendars, and more.
- The creation and maintenance of a professional online storefront and marketing function.
- If we meet and/or exceed our campaign goals, a portion of the funds will go toward making America a place of more opportunity for a number of groups. More on this as the campaign nears 100%.
You'll Get
- Inspiring stories and a slightly more inclusive world.
- The knowledge that you're changing the conversation on aging. You're part of the solution.
- A portable, inspiring message in the format of your choice.
- A really cool design you can be proud to have in your home or in your office.
- A dynamite conversation piece.
- A reminder that it's never too late to do what you dream.
- The warm feeling that comes from doing something transformational with your time and money.
The Impact
It's simple: These days--especially these days--we all need some good news. This is my way of putting a little more of it into the world.
I want you to be able to carry my message with you wherever you go. I want it to brighten your day. I want it to speak to you you when you most need it.
I can't make this happen without your help.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can't--or don't want to--order any of the merchandise I'm offering, I'd appreciate you sharing our campaign and the message we're carrying.
It's never too late to chase your dreams. Thank you for your help.
