"Hey, what
happened Camelot after King Arthur died?"
I had asked as a child.
Nobody
knew.
So I determined
then as a 12 year old, I had to continue the story.
That was a
couple of decades ago. Over the news, I
had painstakingly put together a brand new Arthurian sequel, and with the
encouragement of friends and family, together with supportive partners and
fellow freelancers – I am ready to rock the World of Camelot in a Transmedia campaign using different media in a single narrative!
‘Hello World’, and join me as my pals and
I take you down the Camelot Transmedia journey: into the Game world, Comics
world, and Book world where Lady Morgana is the protagonist! Let’s start with the Transmedia Game World: (1) Dragonlord Supremacy PC Strategy Game and
(2) Tactics Anthem Cardgame
- We had very earlier on
decided that the story-driven, quest-driven strategy must be different
from all the games out there. For
the first 6 months, we scoured the world for folks to help us in art,
design and consulted widely. A
local school NYP pitched in, and their interns helped us with the baseline coding
using their game engine
- Over the next 9 months, we clunked
together sample demos of these 2 games with the help of the Games Solution
Centre. Red Hare and Camelot Hobbies!
- We are releasing the Camelot Transmedia work-in-progress samples now to give you an idea of what we have in mind

This work began in high school, and I now have a collection ready to share with you. Through this transmedia project, I am writing a new eBook that will bring it all together so that you can experience what you read. Join me in bringing 'The Camelot Wars' to everyone!

able to launch the eBook 'The Camelot Wars'. Beyond this, hitting the stretch targets will enable us to (a) Complete Episode 1: Blue Bastion (b) finish up eComics 1&2 (c) work on episode 2 'Green Gridlock',
(d) release the game on iOS and Android,
(e) work on more Transmedia content as a stretch target.

Dragonlord
Supremacy is the codename for this Transmedia project. It is the foundation of the eBook for this project 'The Camelot Wars' and we will launch the ebook upon reaching the $500 target.
Additionally, Dragonlord Supremacy is also the name for the turn-based strategy game. Based on the eBook, you will help Queen Morgana conquer the lands
using force and diplomacy. The gameplay’s unique border management allows
players to strategize campaigns and quests serve to advance the story line. Pit against the Game
AI over the hex grid and overcome the challenges along the way. Protect your hero and units as you build, deploy, attack and bribe your way to
victory!

Unlike
many Transmedia Projects, this one aims to string the different properties together and nudges you to 'play' it. We made a departure from most strategy war games that require players to do resource gathering in order
to build and buy, this game allows you to employ strategies around border
enlargement and management! Connect your
allied settlements by building bastions to stretch the perimeters of your
territory
We have
chosen to render 3D models to provide a 2D overhead view. This new perspective with hex overlay offers
a breath of fresh air in terms of graphical presentation. It is turn-based with only 2 phases per turn so
as not to slow down the pace and momentum of the game. In ‘Orders Phase’,
players can Move Units, Build Bastion (Guardian), Pack a Settlement (Cavalier)
and move it elsewhere, Hire a Hero, Attack enemy/settlement or engage in
Diplomacy. In Reinforcement Phase, players use gold to obtain new combat
or diplomatic units.
Here's
how your contribution will be utilized for the Break project in more detail:
- The first $500 will go towards delivering the eBook 'The Camelot Wars'
- The next $1,000 will go towards launching the Game Episode 1: Blue Bastion
- The next $500 will go
towards launching the eComics 1&2
- The next $8,000 will go
towards building Episode 2: Green Gridlock. We have created the
necessary engine codes, modules, art etc so that the process of developing
episode 2 will go on without any hiccups!
- At the same time, we know
there are gamers out there who would like to play this game on their iPADs
and Android tablets. Because we have coded the game in Cocos2D-x, we
are confident that the port to these platforms will work just fine. We need additional $6000 each to achieve this.
- Finally, every dollar above this will go towards the creating even more transmedia content for you.

our Facebook Group as a Game Tester. We will credit you on our Credit Roll
as ‘QA Tester’!

us comments how to make the game better, and if your comment is implemented,
we will add your name on our Credit Roll as ‘Game Curator’!
Once we hit the baseline $500 - we will start working towards the release of the additional properties.
To do this effectively, we intend to ship 'Blue Bastion' to qualified tier backers by Christmas 2014. After Christmas, the team
will proceed to code Episode 2: Green Gridlock. We hope to achieve
your support so that we can engage you in the interesting process on naming the content pieces of the world and art rights of the 'Green Gridlock' game.
We want to release
Android and iOS version to reach a wider audience.
Dragonlord Supremacy is designed with multi-platform in mind from the onset.
The current build is for the PC platform. The user interface has
been optimized for use on the Apple iPAD and tablets that run on the Android
operating system. The team estimated that it will cost $6,000 for
Development and QA each per platform. Beyond that, we believe this is where the fun begins and we can build more Transmedia properties for you!
We are
game developers, script writers, artists but NOT marketers. We have very
limited networks and can only enlist help through platforms like Indiegogo to
reach out. But when we start something, we will complete it! The
samples proves that we have both the expertise and the will-power to complete this
project. We believe there is little risk for our supporters as far as this project is concerned.
We have already written the
DRAFT scripts and accumulated a large portion of the
required artwork and assets for this transmedia project. The funds raised will be used mainly for design and incorporating the new elements for the various properties and for campaigns in the new
intellectual properties.
We have recruited a
committed pool of freelancers who have helped us put together Blue
Bastion. We value their partnership to continue working with us on the next lap of our journey. The project will sustain them, and for you - there is little risk due to resignations
or overheads (rentals, asset purchases etc) as ALL the monies received will
go directly into financing the project.
