CAMPING TRIP is the story of two young lovers, Mandy and Gary. Mandy takes Gary to a secret family spot in the forest in her parents’ RV, where they can be free to enjoy each other’s company free from distraction and the hustle and bustle of city life. Unfortunately, an unexpected visitor has other plans for them, and they are soon tormented by a shadowy villain with an unusual weapon. Will Mandy and Gary escape their claustrophobic hell on wheels? You’ll find out by helping to fund this short film!

We are an all-female producing team and, so far, 70% of our entire crew is made up of women. We want to tell this story through the eyes of Mandy and with a unique female voice. Our Director, Amy McLeish, wrote her University Honours Dissertation on the portrayal of serial killers in cinema and, through this film, she wants to explore what can happen when stereotypical gender and power roles are subverted. Most of all, though, we want to tell an honest, scary story that will thrill, excite and hopefully, make you think!

We are located in Vancouver - which means we're up close and personal with big Hollywood productions that come up North to shoot here. In fact, many members of our team have worked on big ticket shows like SHUT EYE, THE PREDATOR  and EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING!

- SPFX makeup (we're not ACTUALLY murdering people so our wizard makeup artist needs supplies to make it look like we did!)

3) How is Camping Trip different from other short horror films?

We believe that the main thing that sets us apart is our team - we are a group of young industry professionals, with a large portion of us having worked on big name Hollywood projects. 

In addition to that, our team is almost all female! We want to tell a story with a unique female voice while celebrating women in film and avoiding stereotypical cinematic portrayals of women as scantily clad objects of desire.

4) What will you do with the film when it's done?

We'll start with a local and international festival run for about a year.

From there, we'll look for creative methods of online distribution. 

5) How and when will I see it?

We'll be shooting early September and have budgeted around three months for post-production. If you claimed a digital download perk, you'll be seeing it early in 2018.

Let us know where you're from and we'll try to get it into a festival near your city so you can bring your friends and brag to them about your name in the credits.

Otherwise, it'll be distributed online after a year-long festival run.
