This is a personal creative project that I have been working on while in a lockdown. My goal is to have one mobile app that will stand as a hub for cannabis enthusiasts, chefs, dispensaries, stores, influencers to connect, discover new recipes, learn more about the plant and purchase/sell(licensed only)/ products.

Platform is free to use but ads are added to generate some profit to cover server fees. I added in-app product to turn off all ads. This is the first platform where all recipes are free to access. I add new recipes every week, database has been growing. Canabee has 200 registered users and 3-5 daily active users.

I would like to continue working on this idea and grow platform's functionality. Canabee is the first mobile platform that combines all cannabis food recipes in one app. I believe Canabee has an extraordinary green and good vision for this planet and people. I hope communities try Canabee and support my project. Thank you!


About the founder:
I live in Ottawa, Canada. I like to play tennis, enjoy learning new things in software engineering, economics and artificial intelligence. I like outdoors and enjoy different sports.  I graduated in 2019 with a degree in computer science. I have always enjoyed working on mobile apps because it allows me to create something exciting and share it with people on a global scale.

I co-founded online mobile marketplace for independent contractors in Ottawa. Startup was incorporated in 2019 and we launched our product in April 2020. Our customer application was downloaded by more than 700 people. Our worker app was downloaded by more than 500 independent contractors. Due to pandemic, our team decided to shut down that business.

In November 2020, I decided to take on a completely different project and work on it while in a lockdown.  I have a lot of friends who are cannabis enthusiasts. I never heard them talk about any mobile app that would stand as a social platform for cannabis enthusiasts where people can discover new cannabis recipes, learn more about the plant from a factual academic standpoint, or where people can connect with cannabis doctors, bloggers and chefs to learn more about cannabis. I spent 4 months developing Canabee. It was very challenging to work on such project alone. I am grateful to people who have helped me with designs and code. I asked my friends and other experienced developers for feedback. 

I launched Canabee and popularity started to slowly grow without any advertising or other types of promotion. It was a sign to keep working and growing this product.
