PROJECT UPDATE: Thanks to the individual and collective support of generous contributors we attained the stretch goal of $15,000 that could pay for 10 fishing boats and send 10 kids to school! Members of the campaign team donated additional money to pay for all
the fundraising costs including the perks and Indiegogo + FirstGiving fees, so 100%
of the contributions went to the Boats For Busuanga project
($11,500) and the Tapulanga Foundation ($3,500).

In 2012, the creators of
Cards Against Humanity raised money that they generously donated to a cause. In this
Cards for Charity Campaign all of the contributions will be donated to projects that will give Typhoon Haiyan victims a chance to earn a living and give children a chance to go to school.
More than 6,000 people died when the Philippines was hit by the strongest storm in recorded history a few months ago. At that time, emergency food supplies thankfully provided immediate albeit transient relief. At this stage, affected families need help to regain their lost livelihood and restore their self-sufficiency.
Your contribution will support the
Boats For Busuanga project, an undertaking by doctors from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and a local non-governmental organization. The goal is to replace 100 boats destroyed by the storm. The new boats are made of fiberglass instead of wood to save trees.
As of early March, the first 9 boats have been built so there are 91 more to go! The "BANTAY DUGONG" sign on the boats means guardian of
dugong, an endangered species related to manatees. Boat recipients sign an agreement with the
C3 international conservation group to help protect the environment.
Your contribution will also help provide scholarships and books for children in need. Since 2001, the
Tapulanga Foundation
has been assisting students at St. Francis of Assisi School with tuition and supplies. Benefactors of the non-profit organization are located worldwide from Maryland, USA to Oslo, Norway.
You may get game/post/note cards as a token of gratitude for your contribution. The post cards and note cards feature the artwork of
Michael Graham, whose paintings have been on exhibit at the Katzen Art Center and The Daystar Gallery in Washington DC. His original pieces, which are inspired by his uplifting experiences in the Philippines, are available at the contribution level of $500.
Thank you for helping us help others through the Cards for Charity Campaign.
Let us give folks a chance to earn and give kids a chance to learn.
